Tonight’s Gonna Be a Good Night

“I Gotta Feeling” by the Black Eyes Peas has to be one of my favorite songs of the moment.  The first time I heard it was the morning of my little sister’s wedding last summer while we were in the car on the way to the hairdresser.  The other two bridesmaids and I started JAMMING out to it while my sis just smiled ear-to-ear. I think I will always like this song, simply because of where I was when I first heard it.  Do you have songs like that?  I find it kind of amazing how strongly I can associate feelings with songs because of that, no matter whether it’s actually a good song or not!

At any rate, I’m just sitting at work and that song came on the Sirius radio station we have on and it just made my day BETTER, for some inexplicable reason.

This has been a good week for me – I’ve been eating healthy and working out every morning, so physically I’m feeling great.  Monday was a bit of a breakdown in our house emotionally, simply because I’ve been feeling neglected & ignored and Hubby has been feeling pressured to “be a different person” (his words, not mine!) and he tends to hold it all in until he explodes with pent up frustration.  This happens once every few months… him angry and distant, me sad and crying, and it always resolves itself once we just talk about what was bothering us.  Amazing concept, right?  Not sure why we keep doing that, we’ve discussed marriage counseling for it, but it seems silly when we both know what needs to change.  Everything is good now, so I suppose we should have a level-headed conversation about it sometime in the near future before things get built up again.  Then again, I’m in the mood for a drink.  Maybe we should just meet for a post-work coldie.

Marriage. Never said it was easy.  🙂

  1. I've been married twice before- not great situations. So now, with Brian, who is wonderful and supportive and everything I never had- I FORGET. To tell him I need something, To share when I'm stressed, because I got used to doing it by myself. It's not easy but it's wonderful when I trust him and remember that we are in this together:)
