Five Question Friday! 01.08.10

This is my first “5 Question Friday” that I’ve ever participated in from Mama M.  Please bear with me if this doesn’t all show up right at first. 🙂

1. What’s your “comfort food”?
I’m going to have to agree with Mama M. on this one – homemade mashed potatoes. YUM. I could eat an entire  bowl of them… and I’m not talking about a cereal bowl.  Put a pound little butter in them and I’ll eat them for hours. Add some salt and parsley and garlic, even more divine.  Heck, I’ll eat them plain if that’s the option.
…and my husband wonders why I never make mashed potatoes at our house. 🙂

2.
Do you send Thank You’s (handwritten or email)?I do my best on this one!! I guess the last time I did was for our wedding… a year and a half ago… ugh… I think I need to try harder.  Definitely handwritten though – or if I’m pressed for time, I’ll shoot an email thank you but follow up with a handwritten email.

3.
If you had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, which show would you choose?Big Bang Theory. Hands down.  I LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SHOW. The smart, sarcastic humor… I can barely handle it I find it so hilarious. I also love that Penny is getting “smarter” this season and understanding their humor – it drove me nuts that they wrote her character to be so dumb in the beginning, tho I suppose that was part of the humor.

4.
What is your favorite online recipe site? The Pioneer Woman  for sure – I even bought her cookbook!  I’m a huge picture taker, and I love how she takes you through things step-by-step. I definitely “must have” for me when it comes to cooking.  I spent hours at work one day reading Black Heels to Tractor Wheels one day and fell in love with her site. Check it out!

5. If you had to choose: “Friends” or “Seinfeld”?
Hm…this is hard.  My DH is a huge Seinfeld fan and could watch it on a never-ending loop, so it’s starting to grow on me. His fav actress tho is Jen Aniston… I honestly never watched either show until we got married (random, I know, wasn’t a big TV person). I think I’d have to go with Friends if it came down to it though.

  1. You're not the only one who didnt' watch Seinfeld or Friends until she got married; my hubby introduced me to those shows, too!And welcome to Mama M's zaney, crazy world– she's awesome!~ElizabethConfessions From A Working Mom

  2. The Big Bang Theory – damn, I haven't thought of this… Great answer 🙂 Cannot get enough of this show! And I guess you did quite well for your first 5QF!

  3. Oh my goodness! I spent ALL of last Saturday reading the Black Heels to Tractor Wheels posts! It was better than a Harlequin Novel! And yes, I totally fell in love with the Pioneer Woman–and then I made her FrenchOnion Soup from her website the next day.

  4. I'm so with you on the mashed potatoes. I wrote an ode to them one day because they are so good. I can't make them myself, though, because I'll eat them all. I so need someone to share them with.

  5. Black Heels totally sucked me in, too!! Soooooo, addicting! Gotta love P-Dub! Oh, yeah…and mashed potatoes too!

  6. You know Bradshaw, it really doesn't even help me to have someone to share them with. If I made a batch of mashed potatoes for me and DH, I'd still eat the majority of them… while I was mashing, while I was stirring, while I was plating, while I was putting leftovers in a tupperware… yep, I just don't make them. 🙂

  7. FINALLY, someone who doesn't hate Seinfeld! LOL! I probably would choose Friends over it too, but it sure is funny.I'm not a mashed potato fan, but I do love the Pioneer Woman. I went to her first book signing here in Tulsa and met her and the Marlboro Man. It was so much fun! This was my first time to do the FqF too! Oh, and I LOVE to get my nerd on with The Big Bang Theory. Great choice!Have a great weekend!
