Five Question Friday! 01.15.10

It’s time for Five Question Friday from Mama M!  Hop on over to her blog to check out other people’s answers!

I did this for the first time last week and really enjoyed reading other people’s answers, so here we go again!

1. Worst trouble you ever got into as a teenager?
I was ridiculously goody-two shoes as a teenager and never did anything wrong. Sad. Worst “trouble” I guess would be as a 16 year old, I was driving home from my boyfriend’s house on a Thursday night and was petrified that I might be late for my 10pm curfew…so I was speeding. A lot. Like 85 mph on a gravel road a lot. Flipped my car three times and wrapped it around an electric pole where it HUNG seven feet off the ground. Not cool.  Broke 5 ribs, 6 vertebrae, collapsed both my lungs, almost bit my tongue completely off…etc.etc…
Yep, I’m damn lucky to be here blogging today!
2.
Are you a morning person or a night person?
Night person – ALL. THE. WAY.

I blame it on genetics – my grandpa (who is in his 80s) still stays up until 4am every night, easily. I enjoy the morning light and I enjoy feeling productive on those days where I’m up early, but honestly, I’d be fine never seeing the light of day before 9am again.  I need a different job.

3.
Are you a one-handed or a two-handed Texter?
Two-handed, but still using T9.  Just haven’t really gotten the hang of my QWERTY keyboard yet. I’m damn fast with T9 though!

4.
Democrat, Republican, or Independent..or maybe even Green Party (whatever that is).

Usually I’m more liberal on issues and would consider myself a democrat. For most of the polarizing issues out there today, I’m definitely on the democrat side of the table… though that’s not to say that all of the parties don’t have their issues.
BTW – I’m sort of amazed that it seems like 90% of the FQF linkers consider themselves conservative republicans… I guess I just live in a pretty liberal area and am not used to that anymore!

5.
Are you a pet person?

Hm…. never thought I would be, but somehow I’ve ended up with two dogs.  It’s a constant battle against the hair though, and as soon as I get a house with a nice fenced in yard (hopefully in the next month or so – keep your fingers crossed for me please!) those dogs are going OUT!

  1. WOW, that is some accident! We are lucky you're with us today. I'm curious, though; even though you were doing something "wrong" to get into that crash in the first place, did your parents ever punish you for it? Or were they just so happy to have you alive that they let it go?~ElizabethConfessions From A Working Mom

  2. Crossing fingers for your fenced in yard!! And, holy smokes…that accident sounds like a parent's worst nightmare…I'm curious about Elizabeth's question, too!Mama M.My Little Life

  3. Nope, didn't get in trouble…I think by the time I got out of ICU and came home in a back brace, they were just grateful I was alive. I didn't get to drive for 6 months though… so I guess that was a punishment, but 3 months of that was doctor's orders b/c of the back brace. Ugh. Crappy memories!

  4. Wow! At first I thought our answer to number one sounded similar then I read about the accident, I am glad you are okay after that! I don't think my parents would of been mad either. And finally another democrat!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I don't feel quite so alone anymore!

  5. I guess I should answer on here while logged in as Mambles instead of Josey. ๐Ÿ™‚ It's just a pain to switch back & forth – I don't mind if the blogger world reads my other blog about my life, but I don't want my "real life" people to read this one, hence the separate identities. I know, I'm weird like that.

  6. Wow!! Amazing you're alive from that kind of an accident!! Glad you came out alive!
