Five Question Friday! 01.29.10

It’s once again Friday (already?!), and I’m definitely getting sucked into Mama M.‘s weekly Five Question Friday ritual. Hop on over to her blog to check out other people’s responses to the questions below – c’mon. Do it. You will meet some really cool bloggers, I guarantee it!
1. Would you ever vacation alone?
Yes! I love love love traveling. Love it. I enjoy wandering around The Vatican in Rome with friends just as much as I enjoy wandering by myself around the streets of Paris. If I can have friends & family to enjoy the adventure with, all the better! If no one else has the time or money or desire to go, I’ll go alone. As long as I can travel, I’m happy. In fact, I’m hopefully headed to Norway in May to visit my little sis who is living in Trondheim right now (check out her blog here) – how cool is that?!  I’m 100% Norwegian and have lots of relatives over there.  I’m pretty stoked. 🙂 I think I would have more fear of traveling alone if I wouldn’t have moved to France for six months when I was 22 – it totally changed my comfort level with just immersing myself into a new culture and loving it!

2. Do you go the speed limit?

Um, no, not really.  My husband continually drives below the speed limit and it drives me absolutely insane. I’ve slowed down a lot since I was in my teens, but with three uncles, and aunt, and a girl cousin who are all race car drivers, it’s in my blood! I try to keep it at 7mph over now days, but there’s no guarantee unless I have my cruise control on.  I can easily creep up in speed on the freeway without noticing otherwise. 🙂

3. Why did you start blogging/following blogs?

I live in southwestern Colorado nowdays and my entire extended family is 1000+ miles away in Minnesota, so I started a public blog to share pictures, stories, etc. with friends and family back home.  I then stumbled across Dooce’s website b/c of a CNN article, and once she started the Dooce Community, the rest was history! I started to meet a lot of really awesome bloggers through the community, realized how much it helps me to write out my feelings about things (in this blog’s case, our struggles to get pregnant), and decided to start this separate private blog that I generally only share with the blogging universe instead of family back home.  Love it!

4. Where do you shop for yourself?

I don’t really have many options around here b/c I live in a really small town (1000 ppl), but we have a really great JCPenny’s in the next town over.  If I go to the “big city,” I tend to gravitate towards the same as Mama M. – The Limited and Express.  You can dress it up or down for work or nightlife, which I like!

5. What was the song that you danced your first dance with your spouse to at your wedding…or…what song would you like your first dance to be to?

Michael Buble – Everything

Greatest wedding song. Ever. Every time I hear it, it reminds me of how much I love my Husband. That was the best day of my life. Sappy, but true. 🙂
