FC START

Okay, like I posted yesterday, I’m going to do Jenn’s 30 Day Challenge in order to get myself back on track with this weightloss thing. My first post to this blog had to do with me wanting to get healthy in order to feel better about myself and increase my chances of getting preggo. I’m on the right track, but have sort of stalled…plateaued if you will…so it’s time to mix it up!

At the end of October, I had reached 172#. Granted, I’m 5’8″ (or maybe 5’7.5″ now b/c of my car accident – I don’t actually know) and weight sort of distributes across my body fairly well…but it was to the point looking at pictures that all I could see was how fat I was getting. Yikes! Not good for the self-esteem or the stress levels. I know I’m not “fat” (for reference, in my wedding pics I’m about 155#) but I’m not “fit” anymore either.

Using the simplest of BMI scales (not entirely accurate, I know) my highest weight gave me a BMI of 26.1 – and 25+ is considered “overweight.” Not cool.

Now, about 3 1/2 months later, I weighed in at 160# this morning. That gives me a BMI of 24.3. YAY!! Now I’m on the high end of “normal,” and I feel good about the 12# I’ve lost so far.

Final goal is to lose 30#, which would put me at 142#. I haven’t weighed that since college, and I loved the way I felt at that weight. My BMI would be 21.6 at that weight, right in the mid-range of normal for my height.

So here we go – I’m going to work out every day for 30 days. I took measurements this morning, and at the end of this, I’ll let ya know how the #s have changed.

FYI – this morning I did Level 2 of 30 Day Shred (a Jillian Michael’s workout DVD) and 23 minutes on my elliptical (that’s 45 minutes total of cardio – would have done more but ran out time).  I plan on snowboarding tomorrow – my favorite form of exercise!

Wish me luck. 🙂

*EDIT/ADDITION*

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Jessica Biel, and people say she’s my My Celebrity Doppelgänger. This was her on Regis & Kelly this morning (‘scuse the grainy photos from my camera of my tv!) – I want to look like HER! You see those arms? The definition? HOT!

  1. At 142# (and at the same height as me), you'll be almost a full 10lbs lighter than me. Just so you know. 🙂

  2. Lol, YAY. I actually feel really good at 150# as well, so we'll see how it goes.
