FC Days 1-7

It’s Day 8 of my 30 Fitness Challenge and time for a look back at my first week!

Weight Lost This Past Week: (goal is 1#/week)
.8# (see sidebar for history)

Food This Past Week: (goal was 1400cpd)
1600 Avg. CPD
High of 2096 / Low of 1085

Not particularly happy with food this week. I seem to be in a rut recently – eating too much the first few days and then having to struggle to get back on track. My goal is to not get crazy high in calories these first three days this weekend (though I tend to eat more on whatever day I snowboard, and I don’t feel too badly about that b/c I’m burning a lot of calories).

Workouts This Past Week:
45 min. cardio: 30 Day Shred + elliptical (I love having one at home now!)
30 min. cardio: elliptical
200 min. cardio: snowboarding
40 min. cardio: The Firm Ultimate Fat Burning Workout DVD
30 min. cardio: elliptical
0 min: CRAZY busy day with appointments and last minute meetings until 9pm & never got a chance to do anything.
60 min. cardio: The Firm Ultimate Fat Burning Workout DVD + elliptical

I feel good about my workouts this week. I easily hit my goals this week, and I’m going to continue to amp up this minutes. I think this week I’ll do at least 6 workouts of 45 minutes and 1 workout of 60 minutes.

FYI – it’s not only cardio I’m getting – the Shred & Fat Burner workouts do a lot of combination workouts involving weights as well, and snowboarding definitely gets the BURN ON!

So there’s my check-in for the week. Head over to Weighty Issues to follow Jenn’s progress!

  1. Go Josey! Really? An elliptical machine in your house? I am jealous.

  2. Yeah, I was SUPER scared and excited to buy it (wrote a post about it back in November – http://mycheapversionoftherapy.blogspot.com/2009/11/financial-ruin-or-awesome-abs.html). It's SO NICE having it in the house though (literally in the middle of my dining room) b/c I actually use it!

  3. Something that really helped me (if you're open to the advice of an old woman) is to buy smaller dinner plates. We used to use these ghastly ugly plates because they belonged to my hubby's grandma (sentimental…ew) and they were enormous!! So I bought smaller dinner plates and it really helped me to keep my portion sizes under control. I would "divide" my plate into quarters (during dinner)…one quarter protein, one quarter carbs, two quarters veggies. It made it much easier for me to keep my calories around the 1600 mark without having to do so much counting. Especially during dinner, which is the meal I normally tend to overeat.

  4. YAY!!! You kicked some butt this week with your workouts! I had something every night in the evenings so my workouts never exceeded the 30 minute mark….so today and tomorrow I am going to try a couple more intense workouts. I'll let you know how it goes! But nice job this week, I am totally jealous of the snowboarding. That sounds like fun!

  5. Wow you are doing awesome! Makes me feel lazy really. But keep going girl!

  6. Ha… don't feel lazy. I've been lazy PLENTY in my life – that's what got me into this mess in the first place. Time to buckle down for awhile!
