It’s All Normal-Ville Over Here

Just got a call from the doctor’s office – all four tests they did last week came back normal. I guess that’s a good thing, b/c they were all potentially more serious issues… though we still don’t know what the problem is and that’s frustrating. I’m going in for my ultrasound tomorrow to check and make sure I don’t have any enlarged cysts on my ovaries, because if they start me on clomid, one of the potential side effects is enlarged cysts…so they wouldn’t want me to start out on the meds if I already have an issue with it. Kind of sucky to spend so much money ruling things out, but I guess it’s the safest way! The Hubby didn’t do the semen analysis yet b/c last Friday was his Mom’s birthday and we took her out to lunch, so this Friday (he works half-days on Fridays) he’s going to the clinic 90 miles from here to give his “sample” and make sure he checks out okay. Assuming everything is good to go with his supply and my ovaries, the next step is for the Doc to give me progesterone and then take it away to “force” a period so that they can start me on Clomid.

Bit by bit, we’re making progress! LORDY do I hope that Clomid is all we need to do to get my body working again.

*EDIT*
Also, I should note that Clomid can increase your chances of having twins to 10%. That would be crazy.

  1. So the hubby was right and he IS going to look at dirty magazines. Which of course begs me to shout to the rafters, a la Billy Madison, "IT'S NUDIE MAGAZINE DAY!!"Good luck doll!!

  2. I'm really happy to hear those tests came back normal. Kind of annoying to spend the money to find out, but now you know. I think about you lots in regards to this and I hope everything goes well in the next few weeks. 🙂 Sending love and hope from MI!

  3. Hooray for normal!Go on git'chee selves a bebby! Very good stuff, if nothing else, VERY GOOD BEGINNING!Happy dance ensuing.

  4. Normal is good. Sorry this has been trying for you. Just trust me that whatever you have to go through, it's all worth it.

  5. YAY! That's the best news! Spending the money does stink, but making you feel better is worth it! So you're going the Clomid route? I have my Clomid perscription taped to the wall in my sewing room. My Doc says if I decide to go with it I just need to call her and let her know. But I am going to try (key word there) to wait a little longer (as horribly agonizing as that is) and see if these ladies will start doing their job! But YAY for your good news!

  6. I haven't decided for sure if we're going to try it – definitely thinking about it and doing some research though. I'd rather do it "naturally" – but since I'm not even HAVING cycles at this point, I'm not sure what else to do. Why have you decided to postpone trying it?

  7. I found your blog through a friend. I am going through the same thing (and I'm at about the same point you are). I'd love to chat with you a bit more if you're up to it. My email is sjennings@bakeru.edu. Hang in there!

  8. You could handle twins (and I'd love it—double the auntie love to give!!)

  9. Twins would be crazy. CRAZY AWESOME!
