Sunday morning we woke up and met the whole family for breakfast before heading out on the road to go visit my college BFF. We were both in choir (which was a huge thing at my college) and after the director sat us next to each other, we ended up becoming the best of friends and actually living together in college for awhile. When I decided to get married in Colorado, she flew all the way out here to be one of my bridesmaids! I love her and her husband both – he’s actually my best guy friend from college, which is pretty cool. Their wedding is still hands down the best wedding I’ve ever been to. They got married right after college, so we were still really close with all of our college friends, and it was just so much fun. Their first dance was a swing dance to Zoot Suit Riot where he was actually flipping her in the air in her wedding dress!! It. Was. Awesome.
At any rate, I digress. After a couple of hours on the road (and a stop at Ta.co Jo.hn’s – I LOVE POTATO OLE’S) we pulled up to their gorgeous little house. How small town America is this?! Love it.
Seriously, my friend was one of “those girls” who gained only 25# during her pregnancy of basically pure baby. She even wore her regular size 5 jeans to the delivery room – can you believe that?! I think she looks amazing!
It was such a whirlwind weekend, but it was an absolutely wonderful weekend as well. After a few hours of hanging out at their house, we headed back to the MSP airport for my 7:30pm depature… and after a short layover in Denver and another puddle jumper plane, I finally was able to get in my car and drive home. When I climbed into bed at 12:30am, I was exhausted but happy. Thank God for good family and friends!
