5/21/10 – 153.4# (gain of 1# in the last two weeks)
I know the scale is showing a gain, but I’m feeling really good, and considering I returned home on a transatlantic flight at midnight on Wednesday night, I’m guessing my body is taking some time to readjust and I’ll have good numbers next week.
FYI, I’m very proud of how much I worked out while on vacation! Of the 10 days were were “on the ground” in Norway, I went running four times, power walked with Mom once, and had long walking days four times. It’s very traditional Norwegian to have “coffee & something sweet” whenever you have guests over, and since we were on vacation visiting relatives the whole time, we definitely had a ton of that. I’m not a sweets person in the least, but you can’t be rude, so I ate my fair share. 🙂
I still have some belly bulge (definitely the first place I gain & last place I lose weight!), but I’m feeling a lot better about my body than I was seven months ago. Wow, seven months…doesn’t seem like it’s been that long that I’ve been trying to consistently work at this!
I tracked what I was eating (estimated calories) days 1-9 of the trip. The final three days I just didn’t…and I’m not sure why I quit, but I’m glad I was tracking to keep myself “mindful” for most of the trip at least.
I came home to a very empty fridge, so I’m going to be trying to get into a very simple eating routine here for awhile. Using up random odds & ends before we move to the new house at the end of the month, but also working on healthy eating habits. Once we’re moved into the new house, I’m going to set up a list of “options” for breakfast and lunch with a few different meals to rotate out for dinner for awhile. I think now that I’m closer to my goal weight, I’m really going to have to buckle down and be “good” if I want to keep seeing results.
It’s time for a mix-up to my workout routine. Running in Norway actually went fairly well (my knee problems are getting much better, thanks to my chiropractor!), but I want to keep adding more. Bradshaw posted
this yesterday and it sounds like a
great plan! I’m going to do the initial pushup and situp tests this week, and I plan on starting the six week program next Monday. I think it will be a great thing to add to my cardio routines!
These next two weeks are going to be insanely busy with finishing up the house and getting everything packed and moved and cleaned. I’m going to do my best to keep up with my workouts and to eat healthy, even with the insanity. 🙂 I can do this!
