CD15 (Cycle 3 on Clomid – 100mg)

Well, it’s been two weeks since I’ve talked TTC on this blog…those first couple of weeks of the cycle just aren’t very exciting.

However, a few things I’m excited about…

I made an appointment today for a new acupuncturist that specializes in women with fertility issues. She comes highly recommended from my new doc – I can’t wait to try her out! I went a couple of times to a different guy in town, but we just didn’t totally click. In the meantime, I’ve been reading The Infertility Cure and I LOVE it. It’s written by a women who is an MD by both western and eastern medical standards, and she’s just so knowledgable and open to the idea of doing things both ways (like for me – wanting to work on the mind/body connection with CircleBloom & acupuncture, the body balance thing with FertiliTea and FertileCM, and the hormonal thing with Clomid). Very interesting book – I highly recommend it. At any rate, I’m stoked to try out this new acupuncturist next week.

I received my FertiliTea in the mail earlier this week that I won on Busted Kate’s giveaway, and I LOVE it. The list of ingredients in it is impressive, it has a good flavor, and I’m hopeful that even though I started drinking it on CD 10 that it may help with my short luteal phase (LP) from last cycle. I’m currently drinking two cups a day and trying to remember to drink three.

Last cycle I ovulated on CD21, which would be next Tuesday if my cycle actually stayed the same this month (highly unlikely). We’re still doing the BD every other day – no way do I want to miss our “window” this cycle! I’m hoping this cycle might be a few days shorter even to get it solidly into the “normal” range, but I’m worried that since we’re traveling back to MN this weekend (flying tomorrow and Sunday) that it might screw up my ovulation a bit, so just an ovulation at any time this cycle would be met with happiness and tears of joy from me. 🙂 In the meantime, I’m checking cervical fluid, BBT, and POAS every morning. It’s been interesting charting both oral & vaginal temps – I’m curious how similar they are after an entire cycle. We’ll see! So far the vaginal has been slightly more consistent. It’s nice to have found those ovulation test strips for so cheap as well so I don’t feel bad about testing all the time. How freakin’ awesome would it be to get a BFP this cycle?!

So that’s where I’m at right now. Sad, angry, frustrated at times, but for the most part, trying to stay upbeat and positive about this cycle (and any that may have to come after it).

I’ll be on limited internet access until next Monday, so in the meantime, I hope you all have a great weekend! I’ll be at my 10 year reunion with my adorable husband hanging out with old friends – I can’t wait. 🙂

  1. We were on a trip when I ovulated – LATE – this cycle. I was soooo sure I knew when I had finally O'd and then FF decided to show me up. Just keep BDing until you see those cross hairs. I hope you get your BFP this cycle and all the new steps you're taking work out for you! 🙂

  2. YAY! Well I am glad you found a new acupuncturist. I know we have different stuff going on, but I felt like it has really helped. I mean it took me from a 200 day cycle to a 56 day cycle. Still way longer than most women, but I'll take it! The fact that everything you're doing has gotten you to a cycle that is just a smidge longer than "normal" is amazing. To me if it is anywhere under 40 days it is normal. So go girl!

  3. How exciting! I hope this is your month. 🙂 Oh, totally random but my aunt and uncle invited my husband and I to visit with them and they are in Colorado, thats where you are right?! Maybe you guys are close (enough) and if I ever go up we could go snowboarding! If so, I promise you will be entertained since I have never done it!

  4. Thanks everyone!Rachel – email me at mycheapversionoftherapy@gmail.com and I'll let you know where I live. Let me know where your aunt/uncle live!

  6. I love, love, love that book. It is filled with so many interesting stories and rememedies. I've got my fingers crossed for you and my toes too!

  7. I LOVE that book too, totally changed how I looked at things. And I'm a total believer in acupuncture. Mine told me to come twice a week during treatment, and once a week in between. I hope you click with this new one. You sound so positive and at peace right now, I'm hoping this is it!

  8. I hope that this is your month! I am thinking of ordering some FertilTea-glad to hear that you like it.
