This is my first FQF in a long time, but I figured in honor of the upcoming three day weekend (yay!!) and my crazy absences from the internet world lately, I should jump in for one.

1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?
Living with my family. I’m now married to a wonderful guy, and yes, he’s my family, but it’s really hard sometimes living 1000+ miles from my family. I grew up the oldest of 5 children on a farm in MN, and I loved it! We were one of those families that ate every breakfast and dinner together possible, and I really miss that closeness. Luckily, we get back pretty often to see them, but it’s definitely not the same. All part of growing up I guess.
This is the 4 of the 5 siblings (we happen to all be in black) with our significant others last weekend. So great to see them all!
2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?
Yep! It was actually my 10 year class reunion in MN last weekend, and since I organized it, I definitely went back for it. 🙂 It was so great to see a ton of my old high school friends again! My very best friend in the world is a girl I met in 7th grade (black shirt in the pic) and we had a great group of girls that all still try to keep in touch.
3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?
Preggers. I even catch myself saying it sometimes b/c so many people do, but I just don’t like it!
4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America…besides “Old Glory”?
Friendliness. Having lived in Europe for awhile and traveled quite a bit, it’s always interesting to me how much more reserved most cultures are than us. Sometimes it means we’re perceived (or ARE) more obnoxious, but it also means we can instantly be more helpful and welcoming to strangers. Maybe I feel like that b/c I live in small town America, but I love it!
5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?
My husband’s brother and his wife and baby are in town for the week (visiting from MN) and we’re planning on spending every minute possible with them! Eclipse with my sis-n-law tonight (yay!), a big BBQ at my in-laws on Saturday, water fights on Sunday (a nearby town has this HUGE deal where they hook up the fire hoses to the hydrants and the contestants actually wear protective gear – it’s a scene), etc. Just nice to have some family time – I really have great in-laws!
