Faith

I work at a local church a few hours every week doing their bulletins, etc. and when I was typing up the Unison Prayer today I was totally struck by how much it applied to my life. Sometimes I just need to remind myself to have more faith in God and his timeline.

Covenant and loving God, who has not left us without hope but through Jesus Christ has visited us to declare your fullness and joy, come to us again this day through song, word, prayers, laughter, hope, and service. We are anxious for many things in life, yet you have called us to peace within and peace with others. We are concerned about the future and our welfare, yet you have called us to walk by faith and promised your attending companionship. We are quick to criticize and judge, yet you have called us to live by grace and forgiveness. Make us larger of heart than we sometimes are, gentle of spirit, strong of character, and passionate to help those in need, that your image might be formed in us and we might come to resemble the face and mission of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

*edit* I just read this post at attack of the Redneck Mommy and it made me ever more thankful for my upbringing in a Lutheran household. I usually try to not talk about religion or politics on this blog because that’s not what it’s about…but then sometimes I remember that my belief in God really is what it’s about. I’m happy that I can find comfort & solace in my beliefs. I don’t care what religion or God you believe in, but I do think everyone needs to believe in something.

Off my soapbox now. 🙂

  4. Amen! Thanks friend.

  5. In response to your comment on my blog: I think you typically feel movement towards the end of your fourth month, but I've also heard for first time moms, it's between 16 and 20 weeks. I'm READY nonetheless. 😉

  6. I agree! What a perfect prayer…
