It’s a New Day…

What does it mean that Michael Bublé seems to speak to me on so many levels? I had never heard of the man before a couple of years ago. Honestly, the first time I had heard of him was when he performed on a date night on The Bachelor(ette?). Now, I can’t get enough of him!

Haven’t Met You Yet is my TTC Anthem.
…and now, Feeling Good is inspiring me in weight loss, TTC, and life in general.

Birds flying high
You know how I feel
Sun in the sky
You know how I feel
Breeze driftin’ on by
You know how I feel
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life for me
And I’m feeling good

As of Friday morning (my normal weigh-in day) I weighed 156#. I’m not exactly happy with this because that’s where I was at back in March, and it’s also 4.2# above my low in mid-June.

That being said, it’s where I’m starting. As of Friday, I’m going to count calories. I’m going to get back into a workout routine, and I’m going to do this in a healthy way.

I’ve been emailing with Amanda about my eating issues, and here’s what I wrote this past week to her:
…you’re inspiring me to try it again. Draw a line in the sand. No. More. Being healthy to conceive a child and have a life of happiness is way more important. Here we go, August 16, 2010. The first day of being in control of myself. Thanks Amanda.

I just wanted to put that out there in this universe.
I’m going to hold myself accountable.
I’m going to treat my body right and keep doing things the healthy way.
I’m going to pick a plan for this next TTC cycle and stick to it.
I’m not going to worry that I’ve picked the wrong plan. I’m going to give it time.

I’m going to work on appreciating my husband more and stressing about TTC less.
It’s a new dawn
It’s a new day
It’s a new life for me
And I’m feeling good

  1. I love Michael Buble too and even though we didn't dance to Everything, it was used several times throughout videos of our wedding. I'm so glad you have a plan in your weight loss, and will soon have one for TTC. It's good to be able to take back some control of things!

  2. Woot for a new routine! Hoping you'll have some great energy and a great weigh in next week!

  3. Hey Josey-What an inspirational post- to yourself and many others out there for sure. Remember, weight is just a number that can fluctuate for many many reasons. The important thing is that you are healthy and balanced and well. Don't beat yourself up for slip-ups: we ALL have them!!! Just pick up strength and move on. You CAN do this! Believe in yourself!

  4. Best wishes for a new day. I especially responded to the line, "I'm not going to worry if I picked the wrong plan. I'm going to give it time." Thanks for sharing your plan, goals and mantras and for putting "that out there in this universe." It is motivating and I can use these too!

  5. I'm at the cottage right now but after reading this post I have to comment…you are strong, beautiful, intelligent, and surrounded be love. You WILL do this. It's the start of a much calmer and happier life. So honored to go through it with you 🙂

  6. I LOVE Michael Buble. Every one of his songs reminds me of something positive and good, especially Haven't Met You Yet. It's my TTC theme song, too. Whenever I get down about having a baby, I play that song and remind myself that I WILL be a mother someday.

  7. good for you for getting back on track and being healthy about it. If you need some motivation, and support I am here for you.

  8. Good for you! It's great to approach these things with such positivity. I need to get back in this saddle too!

  9. Fantastic! Once you get on a good track and get use to it, it'll be a lot easier to follow and stick to! We'll be cheering you on!

  10. Haven't Met You Yet is also my anthem for our adoption!

  11. Just to reiterate, I think you are stunning just at your current weight. That being said, it sounds like this is what you really want, therefore, you can do it!
