Day 6 – A photo of someone(s) I love and something I hope to never have to do

Day 06 → a photo of someone you love.

Okay, I’m cheating and making it someone(s) because Grandma and Grandpa have always been a unit in my mind. There are the most loving, amazing couple. They were married June 17, 1950 – yeah, that’s right, 60+ years ago. Can you even imagine?!

The kid in the pictures below is me! Grandpa has always told me that the one of me and him is one of his favorite pictures in the entire world because you can see he’s the proudest grandpa in the entire world. “AWHHHHH” 🙂 I only hope I can have children while they’re both still around so they can meet. Grandpa’s mind is solid but his body is failing him, and Grandma’s body is solid but her mind is failing her (alzheimers)… it’s so hard to see them hurting lately. At any rate, I love them SO SO much. My paternal grandparents died long ago (gpa before I was born, gma when I was 2-3), so my maternal grandparents are really the only ones I’ve ever known. I’m so thankful to have grown up close to them!

Day 06 → Something you hope you never have to do.

Bury a child. Plain and simple. You’re not supposed to outlive your children. My bff growing up was my cousin A, and when he died in a freak accident when we were 18, it just decimated his parents (who ended up divorcing later). I cannot imagine that pain. I feel like it will either bring you closer or tear you apart, and I don’t want to ever have to experience either end of that spectrum because of a tragedy like that. Ugh. Gives me shivers to think about.
