My husband and I just spent three weeks in MN visiting family and friends since we’re unemployed, and while I was going through everything that I had left in my parent’s basement since childhood, I came across a piece of paper that I had taped to my wall for years. I don’t even remember who gave it to me or what it was in regards to (though my guess is that it was from my BFF Jen and it was after my car wreck that almost killed me when I was 16), but the words really struck a chord with me…
We are perplexed because we don’t know why things happen as they do, but we don’t give up and quit…
ps – Part of why I love the quote above is that it applies to so many aspects of life… and it reminds me that it’s not all about IF, even on days where is seems like all I can think about.
The paper that verse was written on indicated it was from 2 Corinthians 5:7, but Ceejay corrected me – it’s actually from 2 Corinthians 4:8. Oops! Still a great passage.
That is a really neat bible quote. You should find a way to incorporate it into your current decor. :)Someday, I think, in Heaven we will be shown WHY we were brought through the various struggles and hardships. Someday, I think we'll know.
@Jess – that's exactly what I was thinking of doing!! 🙂
Thank you for that great reminder! 🙂
What a great quote. I think you probably found it just when you needed it. Hope you're settling in back at home.
Love the quote. I too think you found it for a reason. Good things will come your way very soon!
I think it's a sign that this quote came back to you when it did. I love it!
Love the quote. I think it is perfect. Definitely applies to so much that happens in life.
The verse after that one is also great, you should look it up. I won't try to quote it completely from memory, but it's got a nice poetic ring to it (and least in most versions of the Bible).
Actually, I just looked it up and it's 2 Corinthians 4:8 that you're quoting. And definitely look it up, it's a great passage!
