Holy Crap, Change of Plans

…not for me, exactly, but for Charlie and I as a unit, for sure.

I think I mentioned a few weeks back that we’re both unemployed right now (job attached, but still, unemployment income doesn’t come close to paying the bills). My husband has a good friend on the oil rigs in North Dakota, and he was working on getting him on his rig. Great money, lots of hours, but far away from home. This was all supposed to get figured out a few weeks ago, but it had all seemed to fall through because the first hitch started today and we had never gotten a phone call.

Flash forward to today:

11am – I take my first prometrium pill.
1pm – We get the call – he needs to be in Williston, ND by Monday, so tomorrow he’s packing, Sunday we drive to Denver, and Monday morning he flies out to work a partial hitch and won’t return until the 11th. Craziness.

The good thing is that I did the supplements instead of the PIO, b/c as much as I wanted my cycle to start in 7 days instead of a couple weeks, timing-wise this should hopefully still work out that he’ll be back in Colorado for two weeks during our CCRM testing time.

He’ll typically be doing 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off, repeat… so I’m not sure yet how this will all affect our timeline for the actual IUI, but hopefully it will all work out. In the meantime, we can pay our mortgage, and this is a very good thing. 🙂

  1. That's great that he's got work-we have friends that work on an oil rig in Texas. Good luck with everything girlie! I'm praying for ya.

  2. Awesome!!!! Praying everything works out timing wise. This will certainly help relieve some stress!

  3. Woot for mortgage payment and him working!! Hopefully you guys can time this all out 🙂 and plus sometimes it takes a bit of time for the tests to come back so maybe that will help?

  4. Nice! Sounds like everything's starting to fall into place 🙂

  5. I have something for you on my blog.

  6. Holy crap that's awesome!! The progesterone confusion was for a reason 😉

  7. wow that is a lot that has been happening these last few days. that is great your husband is going to be working, and isn't testing ridiculus! You should see if your insurance will cover some of that blood work, have you called them yet?

  8. So glad he got some work scheduled and will help with the income side of things. Sounds like your timing will be right on too!

  9. It's blink and miss it in your house huh. Things sure do change fast. 🙂 You are so good at rolling with the punches (me not so much). I hope the timing is exactly right and you don't have any added stress!
