Green Light!

Yippee!!

My CD2 ultrasound went great yesterday – my lining was 2.5mm, everything looked good, and there were no cysts on my ovaries.
My E2 came back at 53 – they prefer under 50, but that number was fine with my RE b/c of my PCOS.

Basically, we got the green light! On Saturday I’ll start 5 days of 100mg Clomid, and on Wednesday I’ll start 75iu of Menopur for as long as needed. B/c of the glass vials (no rubber top), we’re having to track down filter needles in Denver. UGH. Still happy we got them for so much cheaper, but it’s kind of a pain. I’m nervous about the protocol for injecting them b/c it’s different than their instructional video on the website. Ah well, I’ll figure it out.

It’s been a wonderful week with my brother – we rode Monday, Tuesday, today, and will go up again tomorrow. Love it!

Enjoying the sun on Tuesday!
Not enjoying the mud so much today!
Thank goodness it was our final run of the day. LOL.

On another fun note, Oak had her baby boy this morning!! She and Natalie are two of my closest IF bloggy friends (I’ve met them both in real life already), and they just had their baby boys three days apart. So fun. 🙂

  1. I think you will find that the injections are easier than you think. I don't know if you've ever given them to yourself before, but I just started my IVF protocol and the Lupron injections on Tuesday. Piece of cake!! Good luck to you! I can't wait to hear all about it!

  2. Injections aren't that bad at all. It's just mind over matter. Looks like a fun time!

  3. I don't know what filter needles are, but perhaps CCRM can tell you where to get them?Oh for fun! Injections and all, just plain exciting times. Does Tomas ever remove his goggles? Thanks for hosting those boys, Josey. I hope they are appreciative of your hospitality!xxlove and hugs and prayers and high hopes for you and C!xxMom

  4. Sooooo exciting!!!:) Happy for you!

  5. Glad you got the green light!! Sounds like everything is going great! And I will definitely e-mail you when I'm feeling down about JJ being gone. I know you are dealing with the same thing.

  6. Yay…so happy it's game time. Now begins the process of giving yourself the injections at the most ridiculous locations and the most inopportune times. You're going to rock it I know.

  7. Glad you were able to find the parts you needed in Denver!!

  8. Yeah for GREEN lights on St Pattys Day. 🙂 Yes, I'm online and trying to catch up…I have low expectations of my ability to accomplish that.

  9. Yea for the green light! let's go follies!

  10. Yay for everything looking great on CD 2, giving you the green light to GO! Very exciting, Josey, I'll be thinking of you. Don't worry, you'll master those shots in no time.

  11. Hope this doesn't seem creepy but… you can get needles pretty cheap at any local vet/farm supply place. You don't need a prescription, you just walk in and ask for whatever size needles you need/want. If you can't find "human" needles in Denver that is… and really needles are needles. So excited for you guys, hoping the meds do the trick! And congrats for your friends and their new babies 🙂 It's what we all want, happy and healthy little ones.

  12. YAY baby-makin' time! Let's get you pregnant….well I will leave that up to the professionals 🙂 but I can't wait for you to come up here, you'll have to remind me when you'll be here? Tuesday? Jack is excited to meet you and to give your ovaries some motivation.

  13. Yay… for the green light=GO! I also ordered from IVFmeds and I got around the whole filtering needle issue by getting my sis-in-law (a nurse) to gather up some sodium chloride bottles with rubber stoppers. I tried breaking one and practicing and I couldn't get the liquid out without spilling, so sis-in-law came to the rescue there. Good Luck!

  14. Guess that was your "green" for St. Patrick's Day! Great news! And as much as I'm over the snow here in NY, Im pretty jealous over your snowboarding pics!!! I used to ski, but haven't in forever! I miss it!

  15. Hi Josey! Sent you an e-mail from my yahoo account. Good Luck!

  16. How is the Clomid treating you? For myself, it kind of made me crazy, I would look back at the time I was on it and think "wow, I really overreacted there…" Needless to say Scott would get a lot of apologies the second week of my cycle lol.

  17. SOrry my internet has been out but yay for getting started I can't wait till we start! I hope this is the one and only cycle you will have to do! Lots of luck and baby dust your way!!!
