2nd Beta 04/16/11 – 267
Well, it didn’t double, but they want at least a 66% raise, and mine went up 71%, so the nurse said they consider that “good.”
I have mixed emotions right now (was so hoping for a true doubling), but I know I need to just be grateful that it’s in their “good” range and trust that things will work out.
Our first u/s is scheduled for May 2nd (6w4d), so now we’re in another 2ww. Does the waiting ever end??
In the meantime, we just finished playing some tennis and now we’re staining our fence. The sun is intense here (we live at about 7,000′ elevation), so it seems like a never-ending job every year. At least it’s a beautiful day!
I know it's impossible, but try not to worry right now. It is higher than 66%, it's going to be fine, and you'll hear a nice strong heartbeat soon enough. Hang in there xo

Mine didn't double either and no, the waiting game is never over! Ha! Looks like a beautiful day where you are and a productive one. Even if you are feeling good, don't over do it…it will bite you in the ass.
I'm in the second 2WW too, ugh, it never ends! It sounds like the clinic was pleased with your second beta and I hope we both get confirmation through that first u/s. Enjoy the sunshine!
Just found you today while blog-surfing — Congrats!! I think your beta #s are great; to hopefully share some optimism, my first beta at, I believe, 16dpo, was 25. My second was 34. I was the recipient of a "try not to get your hopes up" speil by the doctor. Today, I'm 21 weeks. Keep the faith. Will keep you in my thoughts that your little one grows strong!
No. The waiting does NOT end! I hope this 2 week wait goes by fast for you! I don't think you have anything to worry about. That's a good increase. Doubling is expected every 48 to 72 hours, so I'm sure you would've far doubled by 72 hours. P.S. I love your yard! Lucky!

The waiting never ends. I'm waiting right now! I guess it's good that we got so much practice with waiting while TTC.My fingers are so firmly crossed for you and this little bean. Those are good betas!

Hey lady! My 2nd Beta didn't double and I had twins inside. K? You're doing awesome, that's an AWESOME number. One thing that helped me with early pregnancy anxiety was taking an HPT each morning to remind myself it was real. One day at a time, you're rocking this and your little Rock Star is doing awesome, too. xoxo
My sister's 2nd beta with this pregnancy was only like a 30% increase and we thought things were going to go down hill, but she is 13 weeks today and has a healthy baby in there. 🙂 Everyone has a story, so keep positive!!! The above comment about the twins is VERY encouraging! 😀
Congrats on being called "good"! I know it's pointless to say, but truly, try not to worry. And even after the baby gets here, you're still always waiting. Waiting for that first good latch (if bf), waiting for that first smile, waiting for the first roll over. The waiting just gets better and better 🙂 So here's to waiting for great things to come!

I am thinking of you and feel like this is going to all work out. It is SO HARD not to worry, but try to relax and enjoy it. Your HCG levels are on the risk and I think that means good things.

I can understand the trepidation, but the mantra I liked to repeat to myself was, "Today, I'm pregnant." No-one can tell what tomorrow will bring (hope like hell it's another day that you can think that!) so there's no point in worrying about it. Today, you are goodly and solidly pregnant 😀

Holy Crow – HOW DID I MISS THIS?!Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!I know how you feel with the numbers not quite doubling. It is a little disappointing/troubling. But you should know that I have a very good friend whose second Beta only increased by 48%, and she's almost 18 weeks now… It's pretty cool that we're only a few days apart, huh?So happy for you!
