IF A to Zs

I just saw this on Liz’ blog, and I just had to do it. 🙂 Enjoy!
FYI, my computer took a shit Friday morning (the motherboard is DEAD) so it looks like I may be without computer until I find a new one to buy. Opinions? Sorry in advance for my lack of commenting. 🙁

A. Age when you started TTC: 27y6mo

B. Baby Dancing or Sex: Talking to my husband, it’s sex. On the blog, often BMS or BD. Not sure why? I’d never say either of those things out loud. LOL

C. Children wanted: Who knows? I always wanted an even number for some reason (2 or 4) and my husband wanted 3. It’s been so hard getting #1 though that I’m thinking one healthy one now and hopefully one more healthy one later would be fine by both of us!

D. Dogs/Cats/Fill in Children: One dog (Chief). He’s a 4 1/2 year old border collie/aussie mix. He’s a handful for sure. Today he decided to tear open a bag and eat five chocolate cupcakes off the counter. UGH.

E.  Essential Oils/Vitamins/Snake Oils: Random ones my acupuncturist recommends for the most part. Right now I’m only on pre-natals though.

F. Fertility Meds I’ve taken: Clomid & Menopur. I didn’t end up using the ovidrel since I surged on my own.

G. Gain: 1.4#…hopefully that was just water gain or a lack of bowel movements or something. No way should I have gained that in 1week otherwise!

H. HSG (Hystosalpingogram):  All clear!

I.  Infertile Pet Peeves: I just had to leave Liz’s answer to this: When people announce that they “weren’t trying but they weren’t not trying either.” I honestly don’t understand this. To me you are either preventing pregnancy or not, therefore, trying or not trying. There is no grey area in my book.

J. Job title: Realtor, Bookkeeper, Bartender 🙂

K. Kid’s names you’re afraid will be taken by the time you can use them: Meh. I have no idea. I used to dream about kid’s names, but it’s been a long time since I’ve let myself go there. I’m thinking it will be a few more months before we even start having that convo.

L. Length of time TTC: 21 months

M.  Miscarriages: None, thank God. Praying that answer never changes.

N. Number of times you’ve switched OB/GYNS, REs, FSs: Never. I’ve seen one OB and one RE…though now I’m trying to figure out which OB or Midwife to use.

O. Ovarian quality: Good!

P. POAS or wait for AF: Once I started temping, I totally quit taking tests for a LONG time. It was just too depressing (and expensive!) to keep POAS. That being said, I totally bought HPTs for the IUI cycle….I guess just because we had hope again!

Q. Quote from an obnoxious fertile: “I just keep getting pregnant without trying.” — Well, DAMN girl, use a different form of birth control. Double up. Learn about the fertile time of your cycle. Do SOMETHING to not bitch to me about accidentally being pregnant again when you don’t want to be.

S. Sperm: Awesome! Crazy high count with great motility, etc.

T. Time you tried naturally: The first 7 months or so were natural (though I’m not even sure I ovulated back then), then 4 cycles on Clomid, then another 3 natural, then a few non-ovulatory cycles, then our IUI.

U. Uterus quality: Great!

V. Vagina: Um…great?! LOL. I dunno, I had HPV when I was younger and they did cryotherapy on my cervix, so I’m slightly concerned about issues with that, but I think it’s okay now. I do think that the cryo possibly contributed to poor quality CM … which was probably one of our issues.

W. What baby stuff do you already have?: Just the toy my Mom sent me yesterday!

X.  X-tra X-tra Hear all about it! How many people know the ins and outs of our crazy TTC journey? Quite a few now. At first it was private, but after just six months we told our parents, and now our parents, siblings, and closest friends all know.

Y. Yearly Exam (do you still go in even though someone sees your lady parts most months?): Hmmm – good question?? I’m due in the next month or so. Thoughts?

Z.  Zits: Yeah, mostly on my chin. 😛 Hoping I’ll get that “pregnancy glow” beautiful skin and not the flaky yet oily breakout pregnancy skin. Time shall tell…

So now you’ve read mine.  What are your IF A to Zs?

  1. A quick comment on your yearly exam – I was scheduled to go the day after I got my BFP, but I cancelled. My first appt with the OB she said they'd wait till my next appt b/c she didn't want to scare me unnecessarily if I had any spotting. She still has yet to do a pap and I'm just fine with that until after the pregnancy.

  2. My doc said the same thing. She said that although it was perfectly fine to do a pap early in pregnancy, it wasn't worth the risk of spotting or cramping. I'm sure you're fine.I had HPV too, and it's a worry of mine. Didn't know that about CM though!I love this…I will do it for sure!

  3. Love this! Thanks for sharing!
