8 weeks!

I was talking to C on the phone this morning…he calls multiple times, every day, just to see how I’m feeling (i.e. if I’ve puked lately). Totally out of character for him.  🙂

At any rate, I said to him, “Can you believe I’m 8 weeks along already?  We’re 1/5 of the way to meeting this baby!”

… silence …

“Whoa.”

LOL, it was a little shocking to him that although Christmas seems ages away, it will be here before we know it!

I’m still really nauseous, though at least I’m holding down a few foods the past two days.
*Toasted bagels with whipped plain cream cheese.
*scrambled eggs on dry toast (some days)
*grape juice
*fruit (mainly strawberries and Cuties)
*almonds
*string cheese
*natural cheetos puffs (weird, but I LOVE them lately)

I can only eat a tiny amount at a time or it comes back up. I have to at least TRY to eat every couple of hrs or I’m definitely going to puke. Tuesday I kept down nothing. Zero, zilch, rien, nada…so at least I’m doing better than that!

The upside to this horrid “diet” is that even after eating to my heart’s content from 4w-6w4d, I’m now only up 1.2# after 4w – I think 1#/month is what they recommend right now, so I’m happy with that. I would still rather be happily, easily eating right now – don’t get me wrong! (*edited – just realized I dropped to 161# the   official day of the BFP, not 162. whatever, i’m not up much, so I’m fine with that)

Insomnia has also kicked in full force (C and I are actually discussing sleeping in separate rooms in the meantime it’s so bad!). Insomnia + fatigue + nausea = cranky, grateful, thankful me.

Now if I could just get motivated to get out of bed and take my 8 week belly pic!

  1. 8 weeks…wow. I am loving you being preganant (minus the all day sickness of course). I am also loving C calling to check in with you!

  2. yay for 8 weeks!!! i hope the sickness eases up as you approach the 2nd trimester 🙂

  3. 8 Weeks YAY! Stay in bed! 🙂

  4. try abby carrots, they worked wonders for me! So happy you're at 8 weeks!

  5. I hope your morning sickness endds soon!!! Eventually you will figure out a good routine for yourself and what does and doesn't work for you. Ginger Ale made me more sick, but gatorade settles my stomach????Also, don't feel bad about not getting to eat a ton of healthy stuff, my Dr. said just eat what you can keep down, that is the most important thing.Feel better!

  6. You can totally start calling yourself 2 months pregnant now. IT makes it sound like you've been pregnant forever already 🙂

  7. Congrats on 8 weeks! Hope your m/s gets better by or before week 12. It is no fun, I know.

  8. Yeah for 8 weeks! It really is a milestone. And I'd talk to your doctor about the Zofran. It seriously has been a huge help with my sickness.

  9. Congrats on the 8 weeks, this is amazing!!!

  10. Yikes… I feel for you. I didn't really have morning sickness in the beginning, but your diet looks like mine did in the third tri. Hang in there… (usually, hopefully) it gets better!

  11. Congrats!!! Hope you can keep more down… not a fun "diet" at all. Thanks for the pointer on timing my post – worked like a charm! 🙂

  12. 8 weeks! I bet you are loving saying that! I have never thought of 8 weeks as 1/5 of the way through to meeting your little one. That makes it seem like it isn't far away at all! 🙂

  13. I'm glad the m/s is getting a little better. If we have similar experiences, you will probably want nothing on your current food list during the next couple of weeks but there will be a new one! So weird! Yay to 1/5! :]

  14. Aw, I love the milestone!! So so happy for you and C. Just wish the crappy stuff would pass already. But take it in stride – the crappy feeling means your body is making a comfy spot for the baby.

  15. I didnt realize we were so close…..yeah for 8 weeks. Today is my 8 weeks, I have gotten lucky though nausea has slowed down but you are right, if i dont eat something regularly, I get sick!

  16. Can't believe it's 8 weeks already….! And I smiled at the "cranky, grateful, thankful" you. Isn't it so funny what we are appreciate of when we have to really, really wait for it or struggle for it!

  17. i'm 8 weeks right now and i've been following your journey! morning sickness is terrible and i'm so grateful that you're sharing your experience. when do you feel like your morning sickness started to go away?

  18. […] this pregnancy. I know that the first 4 weeks don’t really count, but I distinctly remember this date in my pregnancy with Stella and thinking WHOA. It’s completely amazing to be here again, even […]
