22 weeks, and Apparently I’m Glowing :)

I have definitely decided that getting the compliment of You’re Glowing!!! is one of the most awkward things ever. Um, thanks, I feel like I am sweating.

That being said, even though I really am just hot and sweaty because it’s summer and I’m pregnant and working in a non-air conditioned restaurant, it’s kind of fun to think I’m glowing! since people say it to me on a daily basis lately. So cheese-ball. LOL

This week RockStar is the size of a papaya/spaghetti squash (11″ long and weighing in at about 1#). S/he looks like a mini-human now days instead of a little alien, which is pretty cool.

I weighed 169.5# this morning (up 2.5# from last week, up 8.5# overall). Hm…I wonder if that has anything to do with the box of White Cheddar Cheez-its I devoured in two sittings or the numerous bowls of ice cream before bed this week? Oops. Last Saturday night was the first time I’ve noticed my legs/feet swelling too, so I think it’s time to take a closer look at my diet again and try really hard to cut back on sodium. There’s just no way around being on my feet for 6-8 hours at a time at work, and I really hope that the swelling doesn’t get too much worse for now – I still have 18 weeks to go!

I’m definitely feeling the kiddo move and kick more often. In fact, today is probably the most activity I’ve felt yet! I’m hoping that C can feel it on the outside soon as well – I think he’s kind of bummed that he hasn’t felt anything yet. He’ll randomly lay his hand on my belly for a minute or two and say, “nope, nothing.” Patience honey… πŸ™‚

As far as my body goes, I’m definitely feeling more pregnant. My belly has really popped, and generally people have no compunctions about asking me how far along I am, so I must look pretty obviously pregnant. I burp constantly. Non-stop. It’s actually kind of ridiculous how gassy I am (though thankfully it’s mostly of the burping variety!). I also broke down and bought a new bra this week – it seems I’m in a weird 36D/38D mid range right now, but that means my 36B/C bras were definitely not cutting it anymore. I’m guessing I’ll have to go back in a couple months for another new size though… yikes. They’re definitely growing!

  1. Chloe was VERY stubborn in my belly at first – she'd be kicking up a storm and as soon as JJ would put his hand on my belly, she'd stop! I'm sure he'll get to feel movement very soon. Is it hot where you live? That might play a big part in you swelling. I'm sure working on your feet is getting more difficult, I couldn't imagine! You ARE glowing though! πŸ™‚

  2. Awwww – you definitely did pop. I popped at 22 weeks too! Looking great, mama!

  3. Looking good mama! My Dr told me restricting salt doesn't really help withe swelling during pregnancy- it seems like you either get it or you don't. I definitely have it!

  4. You look great!!!Mmmmm white cheddar cheez its sounds amazing!I am probably keeping Dairy Queen in business with my Rees.e's Pea.but Bu.utter Cup Bli.zzard!Ice cream is the best!

  5. You are like a superhero…waitressing in a no-AC restaurant in the summer….while pregnant??? Holy cow πŸ™‚ You glow girl! (snapping my fingers in a zig-zag)

  6. You're so cute, your belly is so cute, this is the part where I get Jealous. I can't believe you work in no AC!!!

  7. You look great! And yes you ARE glowing. And no it's not sweat. πŸ™‚ Just looking at your smile in your profile picture compared to your smile in you post's picture…you look great in both but you can see the difference! πŸ™‚

  8. You look great!! Being on your feet probably adds to the swelling. Hopefully you can put your feet up when you get home πŸ™‚ Bah, I was always in between bra sizes during & after pregnancy and nothing ever fit right until I was done nursing since every brand varies in size win-win. And totally worth it!

  9. Jealous. No one ever asked me if I was pregnant until 34 weeks. And not that it will help with the sweating, I mean glowing, but look into compression tights for the swelling.

  10. I agree, I see the glow. Hopefully your feet want swell too bad. Once it starts getting cooler outside, that should help.

  11. Now following. You made me chuckle about the glow comment – never thought of it like that before. Kudos to you for "never letting them see you sweat"!Cant wait to read more about your journey – it give me hope. πŸ™‚

  12. Wow..22 weeks already! All that work in no AC though doesn't sound fun though!

  13. Sometimes I see pregnant people and think "oh they are glowing" or "wow, she's so big!" but since TTC I have seriously held myself back from such repetitive, cliche statements as I came to realize HOW often they get said to pregnant women. (As someone who owns 3 dogs, if I hear one more person say "wow, looks like you have your hands full! har har har!" I just may implode) So on THAT note, you DO look great! And I hope for your husbands sake that he can feel RockStar very soon πŸ™‚
