People ask me all the time if I hope this baby is a boy or a girl.
I’ve read many IF blogger’s posts that basically say that it’s awful to wish for anything but a healthy baby.
Of COURSE I want a healthy baby.
Of COURSE I will love a baby boy or baby girl just the same.
People have all sorts of reasons for wanting a boy first or a girl first.
Many say that you need a big brother to be the protector.
But in my family, I was the oldest. I was the big sister. I was the protector.
I never wished I’d had a big brother to protect me.
I was just thankful to have such an awesome little sister.
And you know something I realized today?
I think that’s the biggest reason I feel this baby is a girl…
Because in my mind, having two little girls that could go through life as sisters like Audie and I have…
What a blessing.
Happy Birthday little sis. I love you!!!
(Note – I have 2 other awesome little sisters and an awesome little brother.
I was so blessed with a wonderful family and close siblings.
Love you all!)
I like being the oldest sister too. :)And you know my thoughts on the matter of your little peanut. I stand by my very first reaction (well, the one after the tears). Girl.
so sweet! I have an older sister and older brother. Let's just say I enjoyed having an older sister growing up, LOL!
Beautiful post.
So sweet. I am the oldest and I have a brother. Just the two of us. Happy Birthday to your sister!
This made me all teary, darn pregnancy hormones! I love all the pictures, so sweet <3
Aww, what a beautiful post! I hope you're right..what an amazing experience that would be.And sorry, but I'm not going to let that pink ruffle/puffed bangs picture slide. OMG JOSEY!!!!
YAY!! THANK YOU FOR THE POST SISTER!! LOVE YOU!! Thanks for the phone call too. 🙂
such a sweet post.At first, we thought we wanted a boy first, but since finding out she was a girl, I couldn't imagine it any other way.And now, I kinda hope when we try for #2, we get another girl. I never had a sister, and seeing posts like this makes me really hope my little girl will have a sister just like you. 🙂
Aww such a cute post 🙂 My feeling is it's a baby girl anyways…thought so from your very first "HFS we're pregnant" post 🙂
So adorable! But can we talk about those bangs for a sec? AWESOME! I think you should get that style back up in this joint and by "this joint" I mean your head.
I love this. What an awesome big sis you must have been. I know I wouldn't have dared messed with your little sister. 🙂 A wee Josie…I love it!
I am the oldest of my 3 sisters, I love having sisters I couldn't imagine it any other way.
If you look at the ultrasounds can you tell if it's a boy or a girl or do they just stay away from that area? I have a big brother and a little sister. That's the only way I can imagine it and I assume that's why you feel the way you do.
I am totally with you! I am the oldest of 5 brothers and 3 sisters (all but 2 of them are "step"), and I wouldn't trade being the oldest for anything! I want a healthy baby…girl, too!
I have an older sister and a younger sister.. We are all close and I love it too 🙂 Are you guys not going to find out the sext of the baby? This was a sweet post 😉
I wanted a girl SO bad when I was pg but I didn't want people to get all whiny and shit about my preference so I never posted about it. Beautiful girls you sisters are! (p.s. I had a boy. Don't worry I still love him. 🙂
I have always dreamed that I would have two girls, just like me and my sis. I am not going to lie, I was disappointed at having boys instead. NOT that I don't love them to pieces, I do I do I DO. They are amazing, fun, exasperating, and I love them with more of my heart than I ever thought possible. But that doesn't mean I don't still pine for my dreams. And maybe there are some out there who truly dont' care, which I think is great for them, but I also think that it's human to have some hopes for one or the other, for a myriad of reasons. I hope that you get to have your "oldest sister". Although almost all of my friends whose oldest is a girl have drama queens on their hands, so I guess it's a case of be careful what you wish for 🙂
[…] find out the sex ahead of time, but I always felt like she would be a girl. I even wrote this post about my preference for a she baby when I was about 6 months pregnant. When I was 7 months pregnant […]
