28 Weeks, and Feeling Very Loved

Wow, ladies. Like I said this morning, you are all AMAZING. I can’t explain how much I’ve laughed and cried this morning as I read through your posts. Thank you thank you thank you to all who participated (and if you didn’t know about it, please don’t feel slighted – Oak was working on this super secretly and couldn’t exactly ask me who I’m closest with in the blog world)! I’ll do a real thank you post at a different time (complete with pics of the great onesies y’all picked out!), but in the meantime, I’ll include some links on the bottom of this post if you’re interested in seeing what an amazing group of women you really are. I feel so blessed and so loved. Wow.

Okay, so this week I am solidly a member of the 3rd trimester club, and that feels REALLY FREAKIN’ GOOD. That also means I’m off to do my glucose challenge test this morning at my midwife appointment, and I’m really hoping the 16oz vanilla milkshake I scarfed down last night doesn’t affect the test. Oops.

RockStar is approximately the size of a Chinese cabbage this week (what the hell is that?!), which means 2 1/4# and 14.8″ long. Babycenter says that the kiddo can now blink his/her eyes (complete with eyelashes), which in my sappy opinion is pretty darn cute!

I also just realized that I forgot to weigh myself this morning in the whole virtual baby shower excitement. Oops. I think I’m up 1# to 175# though, so I’m going with that. That means I’m up 14# overall with 12 weeks to go.

Gap had a huge sale on their maternity stuff this week, so I broke down and bought my first couple items of maternity wear. Thanks to loans from a few friends (including Oak & BU!), I hadn’t bought a single thing until now. Again, you guys rock. 🙂 My tanks were just getting way too short though, so I’m glad I sprung for these babies – I think they cost a whopping $6-8/ea? Nice and long!! For those of you who are interested, the Gap stuff definitely seems to run big – the tank in the pic is a medium, and it was plenty loose to put on.

I’m off to my midwife appointment, and RockStar is kicking up a storm. So far this is by far my favorite part of pregnancy. 🙂

  6. 3rd Trimester!! What a great feeling!! 🙂 Don't worry about the milkshake, I did the same thing before mine and passed with flying colors. I didn't have to fast but tried to get good that day and ended up eating a handful of trial mix an hour before and still passed. You'll do great! 🙂

  7. Also, I have no idea why my blog decided not to link directly to that post. Perhaps it was because I can't get it to schedule and I was so impatient and excited this morning that I published the draft from my phone while I was in the bathroom getting ready for work. Multi-tasking win!

  8. Glad you enjoyed your blog baby shower! 🙂 Good luck with the glucose test! Third trimester???? AMAZING 🙂
