35 Weeks

I never got around to posting this yesterday because I never got around to taking a belly pic and now it’s Friday and I’m in my PJs and thinking UGH, I don’t feel like taking a picture, so I’m just going to post this already. Instead of the normal belly pic, I’ll include a photo I took while I was working out on my elliptical a couple of days ago. Holy belly.

RockStar is 18″+ long and weighs 5 1/4# (roughly the size of a honeydew melon). Kicks and flips and punches happen day and night at this point, though you can definitely feel that the kiddo is getting more squished in there. It’s still SO weird when I can feel the whole body/back swing from one side to the other. I’m hoping s/he settles into an occiput anterior position soon, though I know that realistically the baby can keep shifting even during labor.

I weighed in at 183# this morning (same as last week, up 22# overall). I’m glad the weight has stabilized a bit. I know I’ll gain more before this is all over, but I don’t need to be gaining 2.5# per week like I did the two weeks prior! Every other day I’m making sure to do 30 min on the elliptical and/or at least a 30 minute walk with my dog. Feels good to be a little more active again. My legs are still so weak when it comes to squats though – yikes!

General Symptoms: I’m still rocking wrist braces to help with the carpal tunnel. Another fun side effect of that is that my arms/hands/fingers go numb super quickly now, so even if I’ve found a comfortable sleeping position for my belly/back, I have to flip after a few minutes b/c of my arms. Between that and the constant need to pee, this means very little sleep for me which means very little sleep for my hubby. This is harder on him than me since he has to get up to go to work in the morning. Poor guy. 🙁  Also, Wednesday night I woke myself and him up b/c I YELLED my sister’s name (EMMA!!!) at about 2am. I cannot for the life of me remember the dream anymore, but it freaked us both out. Way weird.

Heartburn is always hanging around (though it’s the worst right when I’m laying down for bed). Pepcid helps 1,000,000 times more than tums, but I’m trying to limit it to 1/day since they’re so much stronger.

Other than that, I’m pretty darn lucky I guess. I’m ready to meet this child, but it’s also a pretty fun time to feel RockStar moving around all the time and feel so connected to him/her. As much as I’m not a “unicorn love shitting rainbows loving being pregnant” type of person, I will definitely miss that connection.

I can’t wait to hold you in my arms little one. ((HUGS))

  1. Love, love this picture 🙂 Even though you're going to get bigger and have more issues( no sleep, more peeing/waking, heartburn, it's hard to get up) you're in the homestretch now and that belly will be replaced with a baby and it's going to be pure love. I am so, so excited for you 🙂

  2. Awesome picture! I am so jealous that you have stayed as active throughout the pregnancy as you have! I think it will do wonders for you during labor. Yes, the heartburn sucks, but luckily that goes away immediately once baby is here. Have a great weekend!

  3. So cute!! You are so close. I CANNOT WAIT to meet your little one!!! I might just have to make a trip to CO. 🙂

  4. You are so freaking close! I can't believe you're going to have an actual baby soon. I guess I was so focused on you being pregnant, I kinda forgot about the baby part 🙂

  5. I LOVE that picture!! 🙂

  6. I think there is something seriously wrong with me that I can't get over the fact that you are 35 weeks!!! 🙂 Lovin the belly!

  7. Gosh, I love that I found you close to when you first got pregant, so I could read about your entire pregnancy. It's so exciting to follow. My cousin had heartburn with all three of her girls and it's supposed to mean (old wives tale) they will have a full head of hair, and ohmygosh they had so much thick dark hair, you could part it and style it. :)I'm voting that your baby is going to have hair! And will be girl!

  8. Love that pic. By the way, I actually LOST weight in the last weeks of pregnancy. Because my belly was so big, and the heartburn was so bad, I couldn't eat as much.

  9. Woohoo!! Getting close 🙂 And, heartburn?? Blah 🙁 I haven't had it for the last 3 days, and it's been heaven.. It's been torture up until then!!

  10. Pregnancy dreams are SO SO SO trippy and vivid!!

  11. Love this belly pic! I did one like that too so I could remember what it was like to look down at it. 🙂 I meant to tell you a post or two ago that I also have a WAY hard time losing weight. I can usually maintain but losing takes focused effort 24/7. With this baby I actually gained a little the first 6 months which sucked balls but now all the sudden it is coming off. I'm down 13 pounds and haven't changed a thing! So I think for me the weight just took a little longer than some to come off but the continued breastfeed ing is definitely making a difference. Love you!!

  12. Congratulations on reaching 35 weeks…you are getting so close!I love the belly pic!
