A New App

For as much time as I spend on the computer, I’m a pretty technologically savvy person, but I’m fairly behind the times when it comes to phones. I had a droid for awhile (until I shattered the touch screen) so now I’m back to my trusty blackberry. I’m not a fan of the phone really, but until next September comes and I’m eligible for a new phone (instead of spending $400 on one!), this will have to do.

Today I figured out how to download an app, and it’s the first ever app I’ve ever paid for ($1.99). It’s called BirthBaby and you use it to time contractions.

HFS.

  1. Had my husband known about that, he would have downloaded it the morning I went into labor! Sadly, he had to track everything the old fashioned way – with the notes application on the iPad!

  2. I had an app like that too! Sadly, I had to be induced so I never used it. Bummer.

  3. Pretty cool! 🙂 And yeah…HFS. 🙂

  4. HFS. I can't wait til you have to use that.

  5. I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET THIS BABY!!!!!!!!! But, you should wait to have little Rockstar until the 17. Just keep telling her/him. 17. 17. 17. Because then she/he will knowwwww when all your family is going to be coming into town and it can be a crazy hectic amazing fun filled day of airport pick-ups, hospital visits, and a brand new member of the V&S clans!!! :)Thinking of you, all the time JJ xoxo

  6. Don't know if they have it for Blackberry, but on the iPhone we have an app called Total Baby. It is awesome for once the baby comes! It keeps track of feeding, diaper changes, sleeping, baths, doctor appointments, etc. I highly recommend it!

  7. That is awesome!!! I need to get in touch with my phone-savy side. I don't even text. And my 70-something Grandma does. You may all pick your jaw up off the floor now. 😉

  8. Is it too cliche to say "They have an app for that"?

  9. Does this mean you are needing the contraction timer yet??? It could be any day now! 🙂

  10. Cool!! Will look for it on my ipad

  11. HFS is right. I can't believe it's almost that time!!!!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

  12. My hubby also downloaded an app for his I-phone to time contractions. Today the midwife told us that she gets some DH's that come to the birthing centre with spreadsheets detailing the contractions right from the start, and my poor DH actually blushed (I think he was thinking of doing the same…) Anyway, she asked us not to do that, apparently it doesn't help them much, but I'm sure we will be using the app when the time comes. I was actually tempted to use it last night to time my Braxton Hicks contractions – you know just for fun and to see how it works…

  13. OMG your time is coming so quickly I can't wait to read about your delivery!!!

  14. Woot! It's a coming! I can now officially say due next month! Feels great! Can you imagine when you actually use the app, ahhhhhhhhhh, SUPER exciting!

  15. I loved my contraction app- check for one to keep track of diapers and feedings too, lifesaver!!
