Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: 9 Weeks Postpartum

Starting Weight 38w pregnant: 186# / 6wk pp: 161#
Last Week’s Weight: 159#
Current Weight: 158#

Starting BMI: 24.5
Last Week’s BMI: 24.2
Current BMI: 24

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I’m 5’8″ and have a goal weight of 142# (BMI of 21.6), so I have 16# to go.

I’m not sure how this worked out because my eating and drinking was not great all weekend, but I’m happy with the final number anyway. Actually, Sunday was the worst day (thank you SuperBowl munchies and my inability to JUST WALK AWAY, plus I loved on my friend Bud Light), but overall I guess I still ate healthy and moved my body this week. It was definitely much harder to get in exercise time with working (and I only worked 2 days of these past 7). Yikes.

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week’s activities:

Eat a salad for lunch every day. – 5/7 – not bad considering it was Superbowl weekend and my first week of work.
Do the elliptical 3x. – 3/3
Learn (and do) postpartum ab exercises to help with the diastasis recti. 3/3

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x. That seems more reasonable/attainable to me. I’m going to try to pack a salad the night before work each day so it is easy to grab in the morning and just bring to work with me.

Do the elliptical OR a walk with Stella 4x and ab work 4x. (this will require doubling one day b/c so far there is just NOT time on the 4 days I work at the office)

On-going Life Style Goals:
Drink 8oz every time I sit down to nurse Stella or pump (drinking roughly 100oz water/day). Didn’t do too badly at this – need to remember to fill my water glass more often at work though.
Walk the 1 mile to the post office with Stella in her stroller at least 2x/week. Nope. Maybe once? I can’t remember. This goal might have to change b/c of working out of the home 4x/week now…or maybe I just need to make it more of a priority. 🙂

3. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

If you haven’t tried quinoa yet, do it! It’s super healthy, has all nine essential amino acids and is a great source of protein. It’s easy to supplement in dishes for the pasta, tortilla – even for the ground beef in a stuffed bell pepper. Try it out! I love that it makes me feel full longer and I know I’m getting a ton of great nutrients. It’s easy to cook – depending on the type, you usually just bring the water to a boil and then let it sit for 15 minutes (like rice). Easy peasy!

  6. Sounds like you're doing great!!I love quinoa as well, unfortunately the boys will pick it out of any disguise and refuse to eat it which I think is ridiculous as you can't even tell it's there (aside from the nice little pop it has!)
