Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: 10 Weeks Postpartum

Starting Weight: 38w pregnant: 186# / 6wk pp: 161#
Last Week’s Weight: 158#
Current Weight: 157.5

Starting BMI: 24.5
Last Week’s BMI: 24.0
Current BMI: 23.9

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I’m 5’8″ and have a goal weight of 142# (BMI of 21.6), so I have 15.5# to go.

I’m happy I went down at all, to be quite honest. This was definitely not a stellar week for me, tracking-wise (only tracked 2/7) or exercise-wise (rien, nada, zip, zilch, zero).

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week’s activities:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x. — 4/5
Do the elliptical OR a walk with Stella 4x and ab work 4x. — Um, no, epic fail. 0/0

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x.
Elliptical or stroller walk 3x, ab work 3x.

I think I need to keep my exercise goals more reasonable so I don’to feel like I’m failing so miserably. 4x/week I’m up by 6am at the latest (after getting up 2-3x/night to breastfeed), working all day, and home just before 6pm. By the time we spend some time with Stella, make dinner, clean up, etc., it’s 9pm and we’re in bed, so for now, exercise on those days just isn’t going to happen. Hopefully once it’s nicer out, I can get in some exercise during my lunch break (that’s the plan anyways). I also need to get over my aversion to working out post-shower. This past week on my days off, Saturday morning I had my friend’s baby shower, Sunday morning we had guests come into town, and Monday morning Stella had her peds appointment, and so I was showered and ready early…and then just didn’t feel like working out since I was already done up for the day. It’s a lame excuse, isn’t it? šŸ™‚

On-going Life Style Goals:
Drink 8oz every time I sit down to nurse Stella or pump (drinking roughly 100oz water/day).
Choose fruit to snack on instead of chocolate.

3. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

A great post about 100 Healthy Snack Ideas!

  1. I have very similar stats to you (height and starting weight) and I pray I will be able to bounch back as quickly as you. My lowest weight was 143 and it was my happiest weight. You are doing great!!

  2. I was really hoping watching you kick major weight loss butt would motivate me. But here I am at 10:15am, already digging into my lunch. Sigh…(you are kicking major weight loss butt for the record)

  3. Losing half a pound is better than gaining! So good on you! Don't worry about the off weeks, they are bound to happen when life is crazy busy! Keep at it!

  4. Honestly lady, I'm super impressed with your progress while you start a new job and adjust to mommyhood. I'm terrified of what its gonna be like when I go back to work…I don't know how I'll ever exercise. nice job!!! And thank you for the food tips!!
