Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: 11 Weeks Postpartum

Starting Weight: 38w pregnant: 186# / 6wk pp: 161#
Last Week’s Weight: 157.5#
Current Weight: 157.0#

Starting BMI: 24.5
Last Week’s BMI: 23.9
Current BMI: 23.9

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I’m 5’8″ and have a goal weight of 142# (BMI of 21.6), so I have 15# to go.

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week’s activities:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x. — 5/5
Elliptical or stroller walk 3x, ab work 3x. — 3/3, 2/3

I really made it a priority to try to get at least a little movement in this week! Saturday I walked Stella down to a local restaurant to meet up with my father-in-law for beers (what? he was thirsty and wanted company!), Sunday I did 50 min on the elliptical, and Monday I did 30 min on the elliptical. Both elliptical days I intended to shoot for an hour, but Stella woke up and workout time was over. I’m going to have to realize that I might always get the full workout in, but some is better than nothing! My abs also HURT from the little ab work I did. Yikes. The new plan is that on Tuesdays, Charlie picks up Stella from daycare so I can hopefully hit up the 5:30 hot yoga class as well, and that class is killer for the core!

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x.
Elliptical or stroller walk 3x, ab work 3x.

I’m keeping my goals the same this week – the weather is the same, and I’ll actually only have 2 days off between now and the next weigh-in, so I think it’s prudent to just try to complete exercise 3x this week. I will be trying to track my food intake more consistently this week – I’ve been eating too much at night for sure.

On-going Life Style Goals:
Drink 8oz every time I sit down to nurse Stella or pump (drinking roughly 100oz water/day). — I’m doing okay at this, but the water sucks at my office, so I need to start bringing a couple of big water bottles every morning so that I actually want to drink water while I’m there.

Choose fruit to snack on instead of chocolate. — I’m doing 50/50 with this… eating more fruit, but still indulging in miniature Ree.se’s PB cups pretty often lately (leftover from my friend’s baby shower that I threw a couple weeks ago). They’re almost gone, though, so that habit should slow down soon. *grin*

3. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

Even if you can only do a little movement or one healthier meal a day, DO IT!
Don’t give up completely because you can’t be 100% perfect that day.
It’s depressing to have to completely start over the next day then.

  1. I'm so surprised every time to hear how much you get done in a day. It's amazing that you're able to work out at all!

  2. Good for you 🙂 Keep it up!!! I'm doing HORRIBLE!!! I can't control myself.. It's pretty ridonkulous!! I need to drink more water as well.. Ummmm, I love that you walked down to meet your FIL for a beer.. Yumm 🙂

  3. Man girl, how do you do it all?? Love that saying, so true!

  4. Love your #3!! And nice work this past week 😀

  5. Good for you for getting that movement in!! I can't get in much more than a walk to and/or from daycare (maybe 2 miles one way) but I feel so much better when I do at least that. I've found that reducing the size of my dinner has helped a lot. Not that I'm shedding pounds all that quickly, but I feel lighter. I hate going to bed with a full stomach, so eating an apple, a yogurt and some good Spanish cheese is a good solution for me. I love breakfasts, too, so it's an excuse to eat more then! 😉

  6. Hey, just found your blog! I'm participating in WWW also! TTCing. Thanks! Katie

  7. You are doing great! I'm worried about fitting it all in once the baby arrives but you make it seem possible. 🙂
