Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In: 12 Weeks Postpartum

Starting Weight: 38w pregnant: 186# / 6wk pp: 161#
Last Week’s Weight: 157.0#
Current Weight: 157.5#

Starting BMI: 24.5
Last Week’s BMI: 23.9
Current BMI: 23.9

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I’m 5’8″ and have a goal weight of 142# (BMI of 21.6), so I have 15.5# to go.

I’m up 1/2# this week (which based on how much my weight fluctuates, basically means I’ve stayed even over the past two weeks). I’m definitely just coasting right now instead of making it a priority. Grrr. I know, I know…I need to enjoy this time in my life, but I’m also tired of nothing in my closet fitting me thanks to the super pudgy, bloated tummy I have going on. 😛

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week’s activities:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x. — 5/5
Elliptical or stroller walk 3x, ab work 3x. — Meh. 1 day of yoga, nothing else.

So I do great on the salad goal – I just only give myself the option of bringing a salad to work for lunch. Workouts totally got pushed aside this week, and I have no excuse other than I was being lazy and not making it a priority. We had a crazy busy weekend, but I still could have made it a priority. Grrr.

On the up side, I DID HOT YOGA AGAIN! I almost bailed b/c it required Charlie picking up Stella from daycare, me rushing out of work, the class started 15 min. later than I thought AND it wasn’t the class or the teacher I had wanted (they had switched the schedule last minute to “hot” instead of “fusion” and someone else was teaching it…), BUT, it was exactly what I needed. 60 minutes of stretching, breathing, pushing my muscles, and having someone continually remind me to stay in the moment. It’s honestly the most time (about 90 min, since I was so early) that I have spent in 12 weeks just being in the here and now for myself. I definitely hope to make it a weekly thing.

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x.
Track my calories on MFP (_josey_)
Exercise 3x. Include ab work each time!

On-going Life Style Goals:
Drink 8oz every time I sit down to nurse Stella or pump (drinking roughly 100oz water/day).
Choose fruit to snack on instead of chocolate!

3. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

Remember that replacing your ground beef with turkey is a super easy switch that cuts calories and fat, and one that most husbands won’t even notice with the proper seasoning! 🙂
