My Darling Daughter,
You are 13 weeks old today – and because of the way the dates have aligned, you are also exactly three months old. THREE MONTHS! Holy crap, where has the time gone?
After a rough week of sleep (you’ve been waking up to eat every two hours for some reason), you slept almost through the night last night. Wow. You were out from 9pm-4am, then up for a quick nursing, then back to sleep. I didn’t actually sleep all that well, because I kept waking up wondering when you were going to eat and if you were okay. Oops. 🙂 I’ve just gotten so used to THIS wide awake little girl grinning up at me in the middle of the night.
Momma has been busy this week trying to get organized for our first trip together. Luckily you love the moby wrap, so we’ve been practicing face in, face out, and breastfeeding holds so that we’re old pros in the airport.
It’s definitely still winter here in Colorado, but I’m trying to get out and about with you in the stroller whenever I can. I think the fresh air does us both good! On the day I took this picture, we walked over to your Mommy & Daddy’s old neighbor’s house to visit their brand new twin girls and bring some food. I’m sure we’ll be getting together for play dates soon! Ruby & Fay were 6#2oz and 6#5oz at birth – not bad for twins, eh? Since you easily DOUBLE that now though, they looked incredibly teeny tiny to me! You are growing up so quickly, honey. Remember the picture of you coming home from the hospital in this outfit? It swallowed you up back then!
This week you got your first bruise. I was trying to get a picture of it, but I didn’t remember until the next day when it had already started fading and you kept making the funniest faces, so I totally got distracted by your cuteness. It was on your right temple/forehead area from headbutting your daycare lady right into her eyeglasses. Oops. She said you cried pretty hard – this is only the first of many bumps and bruises that you’ll get, I’m sure.
You like the bumbo seat for short periods of time so far. Just before I snapped this, you were grinning and Chief was actually sniffing you. It was pretty darn cute. Usually he still pretends you don’t exist. 😉
Pretty much all of your naps take place in the swing and not in a darkened room like the books recommend. Oops. I like having you close, though! Here you are all wrapped up in the blanket that my Grandma Marian made for me. It’s super soft, and you always sleep well in it. 🙂
If you’re not sleeping in the swing, you’re usually in my arms. The other day I needed to jump in the shower, so I set you on the couch with your Dad while I ran upstairs. These are the pictures he took of you – he loved that you had your knee up and were just chillin’ in your sleep like an adult.
You are always the happiest girl in the morning when your Daddy gets you up before work. That smile just melts our hearts, every single time. 🙂
Love you so much Stells Bells,
Three months? Whaaa? How did that happen? I *love* the very last picture! 🙂
Holy crap she's getting old. I feel like she's catching up Taylor! 🙂
I think she looks just like her Daddy in the one with the pink onesie and Boppy behind her!
stella just gets more beautiful in every post! she seems like the happiest little girl. good luck with traveling! it's very intimidating, but you'll get through it just fine. i found that a pacifier or a bottle really helps with the ear pressure when taking off and landing.
All these babies are growing up way, way too fast! I wanted to mention a book I read said to NOT have babies take naps in dark rooms and for there to be a little noise. I guess it's to help show the difference between daytime naps and nighttime when it's dark and quiet. Just wanted to throw that out there, that you ARE doing what one book says. 🙂 Good luck this weekend, I'm sure she will be an angel.
Love, love the pictures!! Caroline head butts us and then giggles, then repeat. 🙂
it seems like she is growing up sooo fast! I know it must seem that way to you too! just a fyi, when nolan gets a bump or bruise we put burt's bees all better balm on his "ouchie." I don't know if it actually works or how it works, but I swear things heal faster, and he doesn't complain as much. I don't know how you feel about putting something on Stella, but it's made with beeswax, rosemary oil, cocoa butter and lavender. Anyways, after that product plug lol just wanted to stop by and say she's adorable!
I let my little guy sleep on the couch for his naps.. Oops!! He'll sleep all night in his crib, but he will not nap for longer than 30 minutes in his crib.. Hey, if Mama can get some stuff done around the house while he sleeps for 2 hours on the couch, then the couch it is.. hahhaa.. 13 Weeks already? Geeze I know I keep saying this, but time is flying.. She is adorable as usual 🙂
you look so cute with your moby on. WHat a bummer that she got her first bruise 🙁 Poor girl.
You both look so pretty in the pic with the Moby thing. Where are ya headed? Minnesota? She DOES look so much bigger than her newborn pics. Can't believe it!
She has a smile that could melt any heart. The moby wrap looks über comfy!
trying to crawl out of my hole. Hello there! Cute pics. Can't believe she is getting so big!
Our babies are growing so fast! It's just crazy they are already 3 months old. She is so adorable. I just got a Ergo and tried to practice nursing in it, epic fail! I couldn't do it in the Moby either… not sure what I am doing wrong!
She's so adorable! I love the picture of you two when she's in the moby wrap. I tried to help my SIL and get my niece situated in theirs after she was born. Those things can be tricky to figure out at first! I hope traveling goes well for your trip!
I absolutely LOVE my Moby wrap and so does Aiden. It's amazing how quickly our babies are growing up…I wish we could pause time and just soak it all in a little longer each month!
She is so adorable! How has it possibly been 3 months!?!?!?! Now I'm REALLY feeling like I've been out of the loop for a long time. Man. I still love your hair too. Looks so easy and cute – like you were always meant to have that hair. 🙂
Love the pic of Stella in the Moby. She looks really comfy. Sofi tolerated it okay, and it's the only thing I took on our first trip home from Spain to the States, but we were both sweating like crazy by the time we got to our hotel. Granted it was September and not exactly cool weather yet…Enjoy your travels!
First, your hair is adorable! I love it!I love the pictures of her sleeping on the couch! To funny! Can't believe its been 3 months already! Then again, I still can't believe I have a 5 yo and a 2yo. 🙂 Good times!
9-4!!!!!!Holy Cow, I would have let her cry and get tired!!!! I bet you were exhausted. Her smile is so pretty.
Wow where does the time go? She seems like the happiest kid. So sweet!
She is getting SO big – you have a darling little girl, she's precious!!
