Weekly Weigh-In: 16 Weeks Postpartum

Starting Weight: 6wk pp: 161# (lost all 25# of pregnancy weight)
Last Week’s Weight: 156.5#
Current Weight: 157# (+.5#)

Starting BMI: 24.5
Last Week’s BMI: 23.8
Current BMI: 23.9

1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:

I’m 5’8″ and have a goal weight of 142# (BMI of 21.6), so I have 15# to go.

Like I said last week, I’m thinking that 155-157# is going to be a plateau weight for me (always has been). I’m concentrating on increasing my milk supply right now, so I want to make sure I’m eating nutritious foods and maintaining my weight  in that range for the time being. I’m going to keep up with the WWW though, because I know how easy it is to slide back up the scale if I’m not being careful.

2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:

Progress on last week’s activities:
Eat a low calorie, healthy salad 5x. — Hm…I think 4x? Honestly, I haven’t been tracking with MFP. My goal this week is to get back into that so I can keep myself more accountable. Thanks for the push, Donor Diva!

Elliptical or stroller walk 3x, ab work 3x. — 2x/2x…a 4 mile walk with Stells, and 30 min on the elliptical. Going to keep aiming for 3x!

Activities & goals for this coming week:
Track my food intake with MFP (Come join me! My name is _Josey_) and not go over my total cals allowed overall for the week.
Work out 3x.

On-going Life Style Goals:
Drink 8oz every time I sit down to nurse Stella or pump (drinking roughly 100oz water/day).
Choose fruit to snack on instead of chocolate.

3. Post a (reasonably healthy) recipe that I’ve tried, a cooking tip, a new idea for working out for people to try, a photo update of my weight loss, or anything else I feel like sharing.

Next week I’m going to post measurement changes to see how that’s going. In the meantime, I just want to encourage everyone to get back at it!! We’re officially in spring, which means summer (and shorts and bathing suits) are right around the corner. Let’s feel good about our health and our bodies this year!

  1. I just took my measurements last night even though I am a third of the way through my exercise program. I always forget to do this and take pics before I start a new program. Hopefully, time will show a difference! Good for you for doing it before!Sounds like you're being a healthy mama, and still sticking with the program.

  2. You're doing great Jos! It's not easy being a working mama and making time for everything else. 🙂

  3. Sounds like you are doing great! How's getting the milk supply up going?

  4. Plateaus suck!! And I cannot believe bathing suits are starting to show up in the stores! Eeek!

  5. Always happy to keep you motivated! You are keeping me motivated with staying on the wagon.
