You can’t outwork a crappy diet…
My new mantra to live by!
Starting Weight: 6wk pp: 161# (at BFP weight)
Last Week’s Weight: 155.5#
Current Weight: 155.5#
Starting BMI: 24.5
Last Week’s BMI: 23.6
Current BMI: 23.6
1. Reiterate my goal and where I stand in reference to this goal:
I’m 5’8″ and have a goal weight of 142# (BMI of 21.6), so I have 13.5# to go.
I’m currently wearing size 10-12 jeans, and I’d love to get to a solid eight. I look damn good as an 8!
I’ve been at 155.5# for 11 weeks now… I’ve giving myself two more weeks (until Stells is 6 months old!) to hang out here, and then I really need to kick my butt into gear (though I’m still going to be careful to not fuck with my milk supply). In the meantime, I’m going to look for a new pair of running shoes (any suggestions?), get my C25K program loaded on my iPod, and try to get a handle on my eating/drinking habits, which have kind of gone to shit lately.
2. Discuss what I am going to do to achieve my goals:
Progress on last week’s activities:
*Eat a salad for at least 5 meals. – 3x. I am SOOOOO bored with the salad I’ve been eating. It’s quick and easy (a modified cobb), but I’m bored with it, so I’ve been avoiding it. Any suggestions for a new salad to throw together at lunch would be appreciated! I try to stay around 350 cals.
*Work out at least 3 times, including ab workouts EACH TIME. – 2/3 and 0/3. I did a 1.5 mile walk last Wednesday and a 3.5 mile walk on Saturday. No abs. UGH. Also something I need to concentrate on. I’m so tired of my pants fitting so tightly in the flat tire region.
*Cut back on the alcohol consumption (this is hard, since BBQ season is starting up and we get together with friends pretty regularly and we’re all beer drinkers!). – Epic fail. Again. Also something I need to kick into high gear!
Activities & goals for this coming week:
Find a new salad to eat for lunch (or at least a meal with lots of leafy greens).
Get ready to start the C25K program and try jogging with Stella in the stroller at least once.
Write up an ab routine to start following. Post a calendar somewhere to mark when I’ve done it.
On-going Life Style Goals:
Drink 8oz every time I sit down to nurse Stella or pump (drinking roughly 100oz water/day).
Cut back on alcohol consumption until I’ve reached my goal weight.

I don't normally comment on your weekly weigh ins (not sure why, actually…possibly b/c I'm not on the LIST), but I could not possibly recommend Asics more as a workout shoe. I have had knee issues for years, but as soon as I switched to Asics (after trying Nike, New Balance, Brooks, etc), I haven't had any issues at all. They're amazing.
My calendar has so many stickers for the month of May from walking with Baby G I think it's going to motivate me to get out and walk with him after work a day or two. I'm planning on starting C25K next month after I have a chance to settle back in at work. I was going to start it after my miscarriage last year, but when I was feeling physically better I ended up getting pregnant again. I'm excited to give it a shot!
Salad idea – but I have no idea what the calorie count is. We live a paleo/primal lifestyle and this salad will drop a half pound for me if I need to get a kick start:SpinachGoat cheese crumblesToasted pine nutsDried cranberries (no sugar added)Olive oil (or walnut, or hazelnut)Raspberry, blackberry, or strawberry vinaigretteIt is divine!
I have Montrail ultramarathon running shoes, that I love! Clearly I don't run 100 miles, but my feet are sore sore and sensitive and blister easily – they work as lightweight hiking shoes and running shoes. They have these ridges on the bottom that pretty much propel you forward and grip trails, roads or whatever. They were pricey but well worth it. Also, I use wigwam socks for running, they are way thicker than normal athletic socks and don't allow my feet to blister. Both you can find on Zappos.com, and you can return them free if you don't like them.http://www.zappos.com/montrail-women-sneakers-athletic-shoes/CK_XARC81wFSAq8EwAEB4gIEGAECCg.zsoThe mountain masochist II most closely resemble mine that I got a few years ago. Salads…back when I ate all foods, I loved this salad and it gave me tons of protein and energy and was filling.Baby Spinach1/2 cup tuna mixed with 1 tsp light mayo1/2 cup light cottage cheesedried cranberriesdrizzled balsamic vinegarlemon juice squeezed over the whole thing. (no real calories in lemon juice and vinegar)fresh ground pepperGood luck lady!
I'm glad you're getting back into the game. I'm trying really hard right now too.I need new running shoes too, I have 3 pair of gym shoes and all of them make my feet fall asleep when I run.I love this salad:Mixed spring greensa few mandarin orange slices from a jar or fresh (I peel and add a cutie)Gorgonzola cheesewalnuts or pecans or almond slices (almonds are the healthiest)Calorie free raspberry vinaigrette
My go-to salad lately is SUPER simple and somehow I haven't gotten bored with it. mixed spinach and baby greens/spring greensfeta crumblescherry/grape tomatosbalsamic vinagerette (not sure what your choices are like, but Le Madeleine makes the BEST! OMG I love)if you like and have them: olives, almonds, blueberries/strawberries
I like to do a salsa salad:Spring mix, pepper (any color), a sprinkle of cheese, and a 1/2 cup of beans (I like black beans). Top it off with a 1/2 cup of salsa.
One of my favorite salads has tortilla chips, ground beef, cheese…..I wish! All kidding aside:Spinachpine nutslow-fat cottage cheeseapple chunksrice wine vinegarshredded boiled chicken
I meant to write this on Wednesday but forgot until now as I sit here craving this salad!!! I made this for the first time a few years ago and have had many people fall inlove with it since. It may should a bit wacky but it is seriously amazing!! You use:some sort of leafy green lettuce / spring mix / baby greens sort of thingcan of mandarin slicesan apple cut into slices or cubeshandful of raisinshandful of crumbled blue cheese (or feta if blue cheese isn't your thing)handful of candied walnuts (or similar)I usually throw in a few thin slices of red onion but not important then the dressing I originally made it with is Brianna's Mandarin Ginger… but anything similar would workIt really is sooo good!! …And frustrating that I can't get all of these ingredients here because I want one now!! 🙂 PS – Just realized this is very similar to Michele's salad idea above… which just goes to prove how damn good it is!! 😉
