Sickness in the House

Today marks my first paid holiday since starting this new job when Stella was eight weeks old. As much as I appreciate the extra day at home with my baby, she and I have unfortunately spent the entire weekend battling runny noses, sore throats, and general malaise. The hardest part by far has been watching her struggle to breathe while she nurses (yesterday she would suck a couple times, then pull off and cry – it was awful!). This is really her first cold or anything since she was born, so we’re definitely in uncharted waters over here! Little Noses Saline Spray and NoseFrida have been our constant companions, our bathroom has been turned into a steam room, and we’ve been putting Stells to sleep in the swing instead of her co-sleeper, just to keep her more upright and let some of that snot drain. Poor baby. πŸ™ Here’s hoping that we’re feeling better by the time we have to return to work and daycare tomorrow!

  2. Ugh! So sorry to hear you are both not feeling well! We have yet to experience an illness, so I can only imagine how helpless you feel (at least I would feel helpless!) Hope you are both feeling much better by tomorrow.

  3. Yuck, sickness is the worst. I hope you both get to feeling better soon.

PS – I was picking through books in the school this morning to read to Alidia and I read her one called 'Stella, fairy of the forest' and thought of your little Stella πŸ™‚
