Stella Times…36 Weeks

Dear Stella,

This has unfortunately been the week of sickness in our house. You kicked us off with your runny nose and head cold last Thursday, and Daddy and I promptly followed suit. I got off pretty lucky with just a couple days of feeling cruddy, but poor Daddy has been going bed earlier than YOU all week! Luckily we are all starting to feel better now, but it was a rough few days for you.

This is on day 1 of being sick – by day 3 you were a hot mess!

Thankfully, you are a pretty happy sick child, and I think the most exciting thing for you that kept you really happy was that you figured out how to crawl last Thursday!! I came home from work on Thursday night, and your Daddy and Auntie had just watched you crawl from one end of the living room to the other. Just a minute later, I heard you crying, and this is what I found:

Sorry for the blurry cell phone picture, but it was too funny not to share!

The rest of my week was spent chasing after you. You are a daredevil and love to pull up on anything and everything you can. You’re still not so sure about crawling on the grass, but you’re getting there. ๐Ÿ™‚

Eating is still going really well. In fact, it was a blessing this past week that you love solid food so much, because I think nursing was really hard for you when you were so stuffed up.

Thanks to the new movement capabilities in your world, Daddy had to drop your crib mattress to the lowest setting today. I kept waking up to you crying this past week because you had stood yourself up and couldn’t get back down. Poor baby! It scared me too, because I didn’t want you to somehow pull yourself right out of the crib! No chance of that now – Daddy made sure of it. ๐Ÿ™‚

You’re a mover and a shaker already my child – I am so proud of you. ๐Ÿ™‚

Love,
Momma

  1. Poor girl! Sicknesses really are the pits!! So exciting that she's starting to crawl. They become quite a handful, but it's just so much fun! The picture of Charlie in the crib is too funny!!

  2. Haha, is C IN the crib with her?? Sick babies are just the worst. I'm realizing Chloe is going to be a constant snot-nose for the foreseeable future now that she is in daycare. But on a happier note, yay for Stella starting to crawl!!

  3. So glad to hear that everyone is starting to feel better! Ahh…crawling..isn't it fun?!? Lexi is in to everything – and I have baby-proofed! She is also a dare-devil and thinks the world is her own personal jungle gym, if it holds still long enough, she pulls up to standing – she is still working on sitting back down, but I think she is determined to stand without holding on to anything, she will get up to standing and then let go! She is able to stand for longer and longer periods before ending up back on the ground…sometimes gracefully and sometimes not. It's those times when she falls that freak me out, but I am trying not to hover too much (she doesn't have that far to fall and it is on carpeted flooring) but I am never very far, I don't want her to bang her head so I try to be close enough to catch her falls but far enough to let her feel like she is not being smothered.

  4. I think it feels like a huge milestone with the crib gets dropped! Congrats, Stella! And I hope everyone is feeling better!

  5. Isn't it AMAZING where you find them? I've found the little boy under the bed and under the rocking chair. Both times, I felt like I was rescuing a cat!

  6. She really is a hot mess in that first picture. What a crazy week!I have thought about climbing in the crib so many times and had to firmly convince myself that "No, SRB! Only crazy people do that!" So, you can tell Charlie I said that. ๐Ÿ™‚

  7. When they are sick, it just makes you feel terrible. Being stuffed up and nursing is a hard one to manage too! Hopefully she's on the mend.Is he really IN HER CRIB? That might be the most funniest thing I've seen today!

  8. Love the pic of him in the crib! I have I stop myself so many times from doing it!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ I remember Gracie's first cold, SE couldn't nurse at all and she was only 4 months. It was awful. So sorry you guys are having sick week ๐Ÿ™

  9. Wowzers, she is really on the move!!! ๐Ÿ™‚ How exciting! Love all the photos this week. She is growing up! hahaha, oh my gosh, Charlie is actually in her crib?!?! Too cute!!

  10. How sweet of Daddy to get in the crib with her! I love that!I hope everyone has a nice, sick-free weekend!

  11. Aww, poor Stella (and you)! I hope everyone feels better soon. My first thought when I saw Charlie in the crib was, "If your crib can hold Charlie, I bet my crib can hold me." Ummmmmm…

  12. I still think that "stool" photo is HILARIOUS. Poor Stells… Husband felt bad for her when I showed it to him!I love that Daddy jumped into the crib with the baby! Husband was all "how did he fit in there?! Isn't there a weight limit?!" I have a feeling he's going to try it when we get home…

  13. Poor baby girl! Sick babies are so pitiful! Glad you are all feeling better! Those pictures are hilarious. She looks like SUCH a happy girl!
