Stella Times…38 Weeks

Stella!!!!

38 weeks!

Today you have officially been on the outside of my belly as long as you were on the inside. That is pretty darn cool! It’s so hard to remember what life was like without you here. As I write this, I’m watching you crawl all around the living room floor, dumping out your toy box, picking at the blue light on the HD Receiver, standing up with the bar stools, going after the dog’s water bowl… you are everywhere these days, and it is so fun to watch. 🙂

Not happy about being locked out of the pantry!

Fine, I’ll go for the dog bowl!

Playing in the bathtub at bedtime with Daddy.

You love standing up more than anything, and Daddy and I are thinking you might be an early walker. That’s kind of exciting, but more so terrifying to think about. Our baby – walking? Yikes! You already are starting to furniture cruise. Whoa.

I <3 breastfeeding. There is nothing better than having you gaze into my eyes and stroke my face while you nurse. Also, I realized today that I have 270 oz in my freezer stash (I was thinking I had 100), so that is awesome!! Hoping to make it to a full year of breast milk for you!

A perfect Saturday morning in bed together as a family.

We need a gate for the stairs apparently. Eek! Daddy ran over when he saw you on the 2nd step. Darn child!

My friend Nicky (who took my maternity photos 9 months ago!) stopped by yesterday and took a couple picture of us in the backyard. I LOVE how they turned out. You are such a happy baby!!

It’s been a wonderful 38 weeks with you as part of our lives, Stella.

Love,
Momma

  1. GORGEOUS PHOTO!!!

Why yes, I *am* stalking you by commenting INSTANTLY.

  2. Love that picture!

  3. I can’t get over how she’s getting into everything already….things to look forward to I guess…I’m glad Raegan is still just sliding around…

I seriously can’t fathom the girls have been here longer than we were pregnant….it seem like forever ago and yet it seem like just yesterday…

Love the last pic of you two together…

  4. Oh boy, looks like you’re gonna have a runner soon. She looks like she’ll go straight from walking to running in no time. Love what a happy baby she is. The pic of her pushing on the gate is precious.

  5. She looks so much like you! 270 ounces? That’s astonishing. I have, umm, like 12 in the freezer.

I can’t believe how big she is!

I’ll bet you can believe, though, that I suck about calling people back. Skype date tonight?! 🙂

  7. You have such a gorgeous smile! Chloe is a huge fan of the stairs and I can’t believe how fast she can go up them, she definitely keeps us busy. Stella sure sounds like she’s doing the same thing, little adventurer she is.

  8. She so so stinkin’ cute! Love the bath time pic!

And BTW, 270 ounces??? You are a MACHINE! Go mama!

    1. I have seriously pumped EVERY morning except 2 (when I was too hungover – aka, would have had to pump and dump anyway) since she was 4 weeks old. That’s 34 weeks of pumping every morning to build up a freezer stash. I also pump at work 4 days/week, but that all just goes to supply what she eats while I’m gone. I have a love/hate relationship with my pump for sure.

  9. Whoa look at her climbing those stairs!! She really is on the move! 🙂 Way to go on the breast milk stash! Alidia and I are aiming for a year too..or even a little more. We shall see. Love all these photos. Anthony and I think she looks like Alidia in the last one… not just the matching outfit but her body shape, her hair and her smile with those two bottom teeth showing (which Alidia just now has).

    1. Ya, I’m all over the place on this. I used to always think “at least a year, maybe two” … then I realized how time intensive it is and how your body is really not your own, and I thought “definitely 6 months” … now we’re almost to 9, and I’m back to thinking a year. 🙂 Also, I haven’t gotten my period back yet, and I’m curious what the heck it will do when we try to TTC#2 some day. We shall see…

  10. Great photo of you two! Everyone sure sounds happy in your house, as it most definitely should be! I love the joy a baby adds!

  11. Okay I have to learn more about WordPress I thought you hadn’t posted in a while.

Happy 9 Months 🙂 Oh man, once they start ‘walking’ forget it. That sheer panic when you wonder which way they’re going to fall. And then in a blink they start walking without falling and you can’t remember when they used to crawl. You’re in the homestreath to her birthday 🙂 The pictures turned out beautiful!!

  12. LOVE that picture of you and Stella, just beautiful!

  13. She is adorable! Love the picture of the two of you. Lexi is also cruising around furniture already! I’m not ready for her to walk yet!! Hope you have a great weekend.

  14. Cute pic, jos!!!! Growing so fast… She’s a sweetheart.

  15. I love these updates! Almost wish I’d been more on top of doing these myself (although I am super anal about keeping notes to put in their baby books, so there’s that). Stella is doing all the same things Chicken is doing right now, so it’s neat to see that your world looks so much like ours 😉

  16. She is so dang cute. I am so happy for you guys. It may sound cliche but with everything I am going through I hope you enjoy your family of 3 as I never got the opportunity to enjoy mine. And I wanted to say thank you for all the support you have shown me recently I really appreciate it Jos.

  17. Love this update! I love the pic of the two of you – gorgeous!!!
