Stella Times…42 Weeks

WHOA Nelly!

There was a better pic with your eyes open, but I just thought your legs were so funny in this pic that I had to use it for the weekly shot!

What a big week for you baby girl. First off, you had your first full week of being an amazing sleeper, sleeping about 11 hrs at a shot (8pm-7am). A couple of times you have woken up once for a quick nursing session, but usually you just sleep through until 6:30-7:00, which is awesome.

I really cherish the last nursing session before bedtime, especially since you now sleep through until morning. Whose life is this?! Also, where did my baby go? You are huge in my lap!

This past weekend was beautiful and sunny (which makes it even crazier that it’s been rainy and SO COLD this past week – the mountain tops are full of snow now!). While it was nice, we took advantage of it and had a pool day!

Playing in the mushroom pool one last time to commemorate the end of summer!

THEN, on Sunday, you crawled over to me when we were hanging out in my bed, pulled yourself up, and proceeded to let go and easily STAND THERE, grinning at me with the proudest smile I’ve ever seen on your face. I about died with excitement!! Since then you have let go of everything non-stop and just practiced standing around – it’s pretty crazy/cool to see.

Look ma, no hands!

I didn’t take many pictures this week, but we had a lot of fun hanging out with all of Mommy’s friends that were in town. You even got another overnight at Nana and Papa’s house on Saturday night! It sure is nice to have family around that loves to hang out with you and spoil you rotton. We love you so much Stells.

  1. Yay for standing Stella!!! I remember thinking it was SO WEIRD to see Gracie just standing there like a normal person – so fun 🙂

    1. SO WEIRD. I keep doing double takes, like “is that my child?!”

  2. She sure looks proud in that picture!! It was the weirdest thing for me to see Chloe standing/walking on her own. Have you noticed if her necklace helps much with teething? Chloe only has two teeth, but they were awful, so I’m afraid the rest will be just as bad too. I’m debating on getting a necklace for her, but I’ve read they aren’t intended for kids under 3. What’s the point then??

    1. So far we really like it – I’m going to give it a couple of weeks and maybe do a review of it. We shall see. One of my close friends SWEARS by them, which is what made us give it a shot!

  3. Wowzers! Stella is standing!!! 🙂 Ok, dumb question. But since your on wordpress now can your blog posts still come to my reader? Right now I just get them through email.

    1. Yep – just go to http://www.blogger.com (or reader.google.com) and click “ADD” to your reader – then copy/paste my website address into that form and click add/submit. Voila!

  4. Wow! So much has happened this week! A standing and sleeping through the night girl!?

Are you going to keep the weekly posts up through 1 year, and then switch to monthly like YHL, or keep up weeklies? I can’t believe how on top of it you are. 🙂 Super impressed with the updates. She’s going to love these when she is older. You should print them out in a book for her. 🙂

    1. Yeah, they don’t change as quickly after 1 year, so I’ll switch to monthly then. I actually do monthly updates on my family blog right now, but I definitely plan on printing them all out into a memory book of her first year! Some weeks have been HARD to get done, but looking back I am so glad I have stuck with it!

  5. Standing? Holy cow! What a big girl!!! I love the pic of her nursing – so sweet.

  6. My goodness, she looks like Charlie (which hey – good thing – he’s a nice looking guy!)!

Standing already? She’s growing up. Awful… but fun… but awful 😉

  7. She looks so proud to be standing by herself! Lexi has been doing this too and I just can’t believe it – they grow up so darn fast! I have a necklace for Lexi as well, but haven’t used it much – it is so short she can’t really get it in her mouth…frustrating.

    1. We might have different kinds of necklaces. Stella’s is NOT supposed to be chewed on. Here’s what their website says: ” The warmth from the skin releases the active ingredient in the Baltic amber, succinic acid. Recent scientific research has proved that succinic acid has a very positive influence on the human body. It improves immunity and the balance of acids when absorbed into the bloodstream; it stimulates the thyroid glands to help reduce drooling and soothes red inflamed cheeks. Amber’s anti-inflammatory and therapeutic properties are recognized by allopathic medicine as a natural analgesic, which will help to relieve teething pain and calm a baby without resorting to drugs. The skin’s warmth releases healing oils from the amber, a resin, which is absorbed into the bloodstream. “

  8. Wowzers… look at her standing up like she owns the place!!! What a big girl! Love her little outfit in that one too.

Great that you got one last swim in to say ‘goodbye summer’! Looks like she is enjoying it. Next summer will be a whole new pool experience I am sure! 🙂

Yay, great to hear how well she is sleeping.

Wow, she really looks like you in that top photo this week!!

I’m sorry I never comment – I’m a huuuuge closest Stella fan. Well done fabulous Stella, the photo of you standing is just the best.

  10. Stella!!! Oh how you’ve grown! Such a smart cookie standing so tall! Enjoy the last warm days before winter sets in!

  11. Holy crap Jos she is getting so big. She is still a little doll!

  12. 11 hours of sleep at a time… you have officially arrived. 🙂 And standing! Big girl!

  13. She will be walking soon! Just wait 🙂

So is that necklace connected with the sleeping too… because I will buy one of every shape and size lol. This is a great update, what a big girl. We are going to be posting about planning a one year party before you know it, crazy. But good:]
