350 or Bust

Does anyone else out there just cook everything at 350 degrees (F) by default? Not that I do or anything. Err… ya.

Seriously, I can’t tell you the last time I cooked something at the “correct” temperature. I think it started when I moved to CO and I could no longer trust the “bake at ___ for ___ minutes” thing (high altitude screws with everything you cook folks – screws with you)… and now I cook everything at 350 and just check on it until it looks done.

  1. Ha! I do the same thing now that I am back in Colorado. Drives my husband crazy – he’s from Indiana and used to doing it the “right” way by following the directions for whatever it is 🙂

  2. I’m a 425-er myself. Hahaha!

    1. LOL, that’s the other number that I use sometimes. What is it about 350 and 425? I feel like anything can be cooked at those temps. If I’m in a time crunch, it’s 425 all the way!

No way! I’m the biggest rule/directions/authority follower on Earth! I would have to move if I lived where you live or starve.

  4. 400 for me – due to too many baked potatoes in college. 😉

  5. I move around anywhere in the 325 – 425 range…. I don’t really know when something needs to be at which temp between those numbers… I just guess! I do remember the high altitudes change things though so that must be tough even if you are trying to follow a recipe / directions.
