Weekly Wednesday Weigh-In

First off, the spin class last Wednesday kicked my butt, but it was awesome! So glad I went, even though it caused me to feel like I had been repeatedly punched in the crotch the next day. Fun. Any advice on good cycling shorts/capris that would pad that area in the future? I’m actually skipping the class today because of Halloween, but I’m really going to try to get to the class on Wednesdays in the future. I’m also working on getting back in the habit of going to hot yoga on Monday nights. That means my weeks are something like this…

Sunday: varies – usually elliptical or walk at some point
Monday: work 8-5:30, yoga 5:45-6:45
Tuesday: work 8-5:30, eat dinner as a fam and play w/Stells
Wednesday: day off, walk w/Stella at some point, 5:45-6:45 spin class
Thursday: work 8-5:30, eat dinner as a fam and play w/Stells
Friday: work 8-5:30, eat dinner (often with friends) and play w/Stells
Saturday: varies – usually elliptical or walk at some point

That gives me 2 solid workouts (Monday yoga / Wednesday spin) and 3 varied workouts (elliptical / walk / or both). Not nearly as hard core as a I used to be when I wanted to lose weight, but it’s more doable with a baby at home and having to work around her schedule! I don’t want to work out at the expense of family time – yet I know I need to work out and it will benefit both me and my family in the long run! So far the schedule above strikes that balance for me.

I’ve tracked my food using MFP all week, and it definitely forced me to realize how my snacks/portion sizes have crept out of control over the past few months.

Net Calories the past week: 935 under goal (yahoo!)
Weight: down 2 pounds since last week
Belly: down 1″ since beginning this challenge (38d ago)

I’m going to keep tracking with MFP this week.
I’m going to eat a salad at least once a day.

94 days until my sister’s wedding!

  1. Congrats! You are doing great! I am also having trouble finding the balance between family time and workout time – unfortunately my husband doesn’t get home until around 6-630 usually depending on traffic and Lexi goes to bed around 7 – so no time at night to workout and then mornings are busy as well..sigh. I need to get better at making my health a priority! Congrats again!!

    1. Can you work out from 7-8 pm maybe? Or in the mornong before she gets up? It’s definitely something you just have to MAKE time for, and that’s hard.

      1. I might be able to, I need to figure something out for sure!

  2. Your sister is adorable. Gosh I can’t wait to kick my butt into gear after the baby is here. 🙂 You’re inspiring!

  3. I think this is great!!! I love your schedule. I completely agree with you – it’s something you need to make time for – make yourself a priority. When I was working out (before the FET), I got up every morning at 5:30 and worked out before Alex gets up. It was hard, but something I was very proud of myself for doing, and it started the day out right! Good job for doing this! Just think of the amazing example you’re setting for Stella!

    1. Yeah, I’d like to get back in the habit of morning workouts – it just starts the day off right, for sure. If Stella will more consistently sleep until 7, I think I’ll start that!

  4. I know what you mean about how your crotch feels after biking. I have a great pair of padded shorts, they make them for men and women so make sure you get the women’s. I just wear them under whatever pants or leggings I want to wear, they make about a 50% difference. The truth is you have to build a little muscle and tolerance down there, but it will get better, especially with padded shorts.

  5. I love spin!! This week I have been doing weights in the hotel gym it’s been awesome!

  6. Make sure you don’t wear colored underwear to spin! When I was doing it, I would keep erring urinary infections and we pinpointed it to the dye from my underwear during spin!

  7. You can do it! MFP is pretty much AWESOME!

  8. Sounds like you are doing so well with this challenge so far!! Your weekly plan sounds great. I need to do actual exercise like this!!! Ugg. That Stella / family time is definitely most important though so glad you are still getting lots of that in! 🙂

  9. congrats on your two pound weight loss! That is so amazing!! MFP is so good and eye opening to see how bad we are eating when we track our food. You are so awesome with the challenge!

  10. btw, you gotta get a RSS button or link on here somewhere 🙂

    1. I know absolutely nothing about RSS! If you teach me, i will. 🙂
