The Monday Snapshot – House Project Edition

Charlie and I have been slowly working on the back deck at our house over the past six months. Last fall we bought and installed the support beams and joists, and then we ran out of money, so we covered the whole thing with some cast off plywood from a job Charlie had been working on and called it good. This spring has brought us renewed resolve to get the darn thing finished, so a couple of weeks ago we bought the deck boards from a local lumber company (who Charlie works closely with for his day job as a contractor, so they thankfully gave us a good deal on the price). They had to order in what we needed in order to fulfill the order, so Charlie only got about 8 rows stained and put down that weekend. The rest of the wood finally came in this past week, so on Sunday we started the time consuming task of staining everything before laying it down. I cannot wait for this project to be over! We spend a lot of time in our back yard in the summer – I think this is going to be a great addition to our main hang out area, especially with Stella as a toddler this summer!

Your little helper looks adorable in her chair! We (my husband) put on a deck two springs ago and LOVE it!
