My parents and youngest sister got into town on Thursday night from MN (an 1,100 mile drive!), and my plan was to surprise my Mom with an ultrasound while she was here. I ended up caving and telling her a couple of weeks ago about it, but it was still so fun to have them with for this moment! Charlie couldn’t be there because of work, and I was so petrified that there wouldn’t be a heartbeat or that something would be wrong.
Based on my chart, I was 10w2d yesterday, and according to the u/s tech, baby is measuring 10w5d and had a heartbeat rate of 170bpm! Sweet relief.

Ahhhh! I had no doubt, but I know how reassuring it is to get that first glimpse and see the baby and hear the baby. Congratulations again sweetie! I love that S is sitting in between your legs in that one pic, like she’s really excited too!
That first ultrasound, or for me, that 4th or 5th ultrasound, is the most amazing thing. Letting out the breath I’ve been holding for all those weeks…hell, even the 20 week ultrasound helped me relax a little…How wonderful to have your mom there. There were many times with my pregnancy with Raegan where Babe couldn’t make it. I made sure I never went to an appointment alone, except of course for that very last appointment. Won’t make that mistake again 🙂 Such wonderful news for all of you. Stella is going to be a wonderful big sister.

How is the all day nausea/vomiting? I am almost 9 wks with my fourth and it is still bad 🙁 Went for IV fluids and meds yesterday and it has improved a little. Zofran and Phenergan aren’t working but Unisom seems to help a little bit. Go figure!

Have you thought of getting an at-home doppler? We have a $70 one we ordered from Amazon from Sonoline B….perfect! We heard the heartbeat at home with no help at 8 weeks 4 days! And of course, I check it every day now. 🙂
I borrowed one from my girlfriend and haven’t been able to find it yet, so it has just stressed me out!
Such great news! With Stella there, did you talk to her about what’s going on? Does she “know”? I put it in quotes bc of her age obv, but do you discuss the baby around her yet?
No we haven’t, b/c we didn’t want her saying anything in front of ppl. I suppose we should start now. 🙂

We shall see. 🙂 They said heartbeats are higher around now and then settle to 130-160 or so in the rest of the pregnancy. Stella started in the 150s/160s and ended in the 130s!
