11 Weeks

So apparently my little lime sized fetus now enjoys a 1:1 body/head ratio at this point. Kiddo – if you are anything like your big sis, this will continue for awhile (she had the head circumference of your average 2 year old at her 12mo well child check). Big brains for the win!

I’m down 1.5# from my BFP weight, and down 2.3# from the little blip up I had around 5/6 weeks before I started feeling so horribly vomiting all day every day. I have started going up in the past 10 days though, due largely in part to the fact that I am now puking only every day or two (while still having all day nausea) and food actually (sometimes) sounds good to me again. I’m blaming the baby for my impulse purchase of squeeze cheese yesterday after work. My God it was divine. My belly circumference hasn’t changed, but it still somehow looks more…substantial(?)…in clothing. I suppose it’s getting firmer instead of being just a jiggly beer belly. Wishful thinking? Not working out for the past six weeks has nothing to do with it I’m sure. 😛

Picture1Last Friday we got to see this kiddo on the ultrasound machine, and WOW was it a relief to hear that heartbeat and see the little arms waving around. It’s hard to believe that something so tiny is totally taking over my body already! This is definitely feeling more “real” now that I’ve seen the gummy bear floating on a screen. Every day that passes gives us a little more confidence that we’ll actually be a family of 4 come this winter. #Insane

In other pregnancy news, 3 of my 4 hugely pregnant friends had their babies in the past week – only my coworker is left standing pregnant now. She is using my HypnoBabies material – I can’t wait to hear all about her experience! One of the other ladies just did a home waterbirth (her 2nd) here in town with the midwife we are going to be using. (Note to self – get midwife post written!) I’m dying to hear about her experience as well.

Like I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, there is suddenly a plethora of newly pregnant friends in my little circle of friends. This is fairly amazing considering I live in a town of 1,000 people and have very few close girlfriends. I literally have ONE close friend who isn’t pregnant right now (and I think she and her hubby are about to embark on TTC#1!). I can only imagine what a mess I’d have been if this crazy wonderful surprise pregnancy hadn’t happened for us when it did. I found out last week that another one of my friends (her daughter is 12d older than Stella) is also pregnant again. She has struggled with some pretty severe RPL in the past (including a late 2nd tri loss), and apparently she’s had a couple losses again while TTC#2, so she had been keeping this news close to the vest until her u/s last week. Thankfully they saw a heartbeat last Wednesday (at about 8w) so we are all busy praying that this one sticks for her. My BFF also got to see the heartbeat of her little embaby yesterday (she’s at about 7w now). So ya, that’s 7w, 9w, 11w for the three of us. Still praying my friend who miscarried a couple of weeks ago gets pregnant again soon without issues. Thankfully she has been the fertile myrtle of the group in the past, but I can’t imagine how hard it will be for her to be around all of us otherwise. 🙁

So that’s that. I’m taking belly pics, but probably won’t post a link to that page until I’m leaving the 1st tri. You know, in case I jinx anything. *knocking head on wall*

  1. Glad to hear the update! Are you finding out the sex this time?

    1. I think so!

Yay! Why the change this time?

        1. Charlie acquiesced to my request for a home birth, so I’m doing the same to his request to find out the sex.

Glad things are looking up as far as puking goes, hope it stays that way!

    1. Meh, I puked at work shortly after writing this, but it really is getting better overall. *Fingers Crossed*

  3. Oh.My.Goodness. SO EXCITED FOR YOU!!!!

    1. Thanks, Trish. 🙂 How are YOU feeling?!! Maybe time for a blog update??

  4. So thankful the little one is growing so well and you are finally starting to feel better. Praying for you and your friends- ya’ll will have some fun playdates next year for sure! Thanks for your comment on my blog tonight- I am planning on doing BLW, and it was so nice to read your encouragement. Hope you continue to have a great week!

    1. We totally loved doing BLW – I hope you do too! So much easier than spoon feeding everything.

  5. Such good news hearing you’re finally feeling a little better. I really hope you’re on the upswing…I still have the occasional issue, but I’ve actually been vomit free for one whole week!!! Here’s hoping you’re going to be vomit free soon!!! It seems like this time is flying by, but I know for you and the SICK it’s dragging on and on and on….almost to that magic 2nd tri…

  6. Great update!

  7. Sounds like things are going super well! You’re almost out of the first trimester – WOOHOO!

Yay! I’m so glad everything is going well and that you have this wonderful pregnancy to celebrate while so many you know are celebrating their own. What an amazing time this must be.

  9. That is so neat that you have all those IRL friends pregnant so close together! It must be nice to have others to talk to about things going on throughout the pregnancy and then it will be especially neat to have your kids so close together in age! Glad you are started to feel a bit better… as in not puking all day everyday :/ Still sorry to hear you are feeling yucky at all. Hope that ends with the 1st trimester!!

  10. Babies, babies everywhere! Glad to hear they nausea is subsiding (a bit at least) and food is starting to sound better to you again. I’ll be interested to see how you feel about the reality of this pregnancy over the upcoming months – I swear I didn’t feel like I was pregnant or bringing home a baby until he was in my arms.

  11. Glad to hear all is going well!

We are doing the opposite, we found out with the first 3 but we aren’t going to this time! (I won’t be decorating a nursery for the first time ever which feels weird! We have 4 bedrooms total.)

The nausea/vomiting is a tiny bit better for me after the ER trip last week. Instead of 8 times a day I am on meds still and down to 1-2 times a day. I will be 10 wks Monday so praying that it is over totally in a few weeks!

    How is the Doppler going?

    1. No nursery for us this time either!
Glad your nausea is slowly getting better. It’s so debilitating to be puking all day. 🙁
No luck with the doppler yet. I’m trying to just stay away from the damn thing!

Will the kids be sharing a room?

      2. Ha, I’m really not sure. Stella is currently in a tiny nursery (loft that we converted into a bedroom) & I’m not sure how we’d fit a crib + bed in there, we are in the other room upstairs, and then we have 1 guest room downstairs (that EVERYONE has to walk through to use the bathroom b/c we don’t have a powder room). So… not sure. We figure this kid will be in our room for 6mo again anyway, so we have until next summer to figure something out!

  12. I’m so glad that you’re slowly but surely starting to feel better. And I’m just overall so glad you’re pregnant…especially considering the baby boom that’s going on in your community!

  13. Glad to hear you’re feeling better! I am jealous of all of your pregnant friends. I have so few that are even interested!

Ahhh!! i’ve been able to read, not comment!! Congratulations!! I was so, so elated to see the beautiful ultrasound picture from your last post! Even without a loss I think the first trimester is full of so much anxiety until you see/hear the heartbeat.
