The Monday Snapshot – It’s a Boy!

IMG_8998

On Saturday morning we got the best news ever – according to the ultrasound tech, our son is “amazing, amazing, amazing.” 🙂 Everything looked great, heartbeat of 155 BPM, weighing roughly 10oz, measuring 8d ahead. Also, my cervix was long (4.6cm?) and closed, the placenta is plenty high and away from the cervix, and the umbilical cord looks great. Basically, we are over the moon happy. 🙂

That being said, holy shit, I am so scared to be the parent of a BOY, but we are so excited too! I guess we’ll just learn (and get peed on) as we go. LOL

I am so happy that you will be welcoming a son into the family. having one of each it truly amazing. Plus Charlie will have a little construction helper.

    1. Ha, my sisters and I all worked construction with my Dad growing up! That being said, my brother is the only one continuing it as an adult. 🙂 Charlie and I have been joking that this kid will have to be named “Concrete” (because of Charlie’s company name – Stella Concrete).

  5. You really are going to be a fantastic boy-mom!!! How do you feel knowing the sex now? Does it feel different than not knowing with Stella?

    1. It’s weird, but cool. 🙂 I’m really glad we waited to find out with Stella, but it’s pretty cool to know this time around too!

  6. Wahooooo! Congrats.

  7. Hooray! Congrats on the beautiful boy! So exciting!

  8. Congrats! I have been through that, wow, a boy! Really?! Feeling. It’s crazy for sure but now I’m so into it.

I’m so glad everything looked great! Such wonderful news.

  9. Congratulations!! I am glad everything is looking good! I think I would be more worried that there will be 2 children instead of just Stella!! You guys will be awesome!

  10. So glad everything is looking great. I know how disappinting/scary it can be to find out u are having a boy when u wanted a girl, but I promise it gets less scary with time!

    1. I was thinking about your post in regards to this actually!!

  11. ohhh congratulations! good thing those diapers look mostly gender neutral! 😉

    1. Yep, the original 15 were all gender neutral, and the final 4 are a little girlier, but they’ll work. 🙂

  12. Congratulations Josey! That’s such exciting news! xx

  13. Congratulations! You’ll only get peed on for a few weeks in the beginning 😉

  14. Congrats- so exciting! You will rock at being a boy mom. And for the record, I’ve gotten peed on just as many times by Charlotte as I did by Grayson- ha!

YAY!! Glad all is well! So happy for you guys!

  16. It’s the year of boys, it seems! If it makes you feel any better, I have no idea what to do with a boy either. Boys are foreign to me. I’m sure they’ll be awesome though!

  17. WOOOOO!!! Congratulations!! And don’t worry, boys are great! Yes, you might get peed on now and again but when they are older you won’t have to worry about him sitting on nasty public restroom toilets! That will make your life so much easier you don’t even know! 🙂

And you’re a great mom so you’ll be absolutely fine! Congrats again!

  18. I squealed out loud when I saw the FB message yesterday. Yes you CAN do anything Jos! Even raise a boy, you are going to be so great! Congrats, he is going to be adorable!!

I’m so glad everything looks so healthy for the home birth!

    1. Agreed. 🙂

  19. When we found out we were having a girl with Raegan I totally panicked. I was grateful she was healthy, but I seriously know NOTHING about girls. I’m also glad we found out because I wouldn’t want to have panicked in the delivery room when they said, A GIRL! when I was totally expecting a boy. This time I was totally expecting a girl and when I saw boy before they said it my first response again was HOLY SHIT! You’re going to rock this…and CONCRETE is a perfectly good name for a strapping young lad…call him Crete for short 🙂 I’m so excited for you and I still think it’s totally weird that aside from Courtney and SRB, we’re all having opposite sex babies for #2…totally random!

  20. Congratulations!!!

  21. I’m so far behind on my blog reading I didn’t even know you were pregnant! Congratulations on your BOY! Boys are fun! 🙂

  22. congrats!! So excited for you three to add a lil boy to your family!

  26. I am so happy to hear that everything is looking PERFECT!!! 🙂 Yay baby boy!! Still so darn thrilled for you!!

  27. Congratulations!!!! Boys are wonderful!! I didn’t know what to do with a boy, but they show you the way. Pretty soon you will be able to identify every single construction vehicle in existence and you will love it!

  28. Congrats – super cute picture to announce it. And i just have to say again… you guys are the most photogenic family!!!!

    1. Ha, stella was in breakdown mode at that point – we were lucky to get this shot! Charlie has learned to just keep smiling at the camera until I say done. 😉

  29. What you’re pregnant again too?! Wow, congrats! I’m so out of the loop.

  30. A boy? Perfect – one of each! (I say with a wink after your more recent post)

Love your announcement picture with the continued Scrabble theme. And I’m glad everything looks so amazing.
