Today I got home from work early (after picking up my sick child from daycare – poor thing!) and checked my Facebook. My SIL has been in Florida for 10 days with her boyfriend, but she was flying back alone because he was driving a vehicle back. As background – my SIL is petrified of flying. She is literally one of those people who is convinced the plane is going to crash and who ends up near (or in) tears while flying every.single.time. I can’t believe she flew back alone, especially when it involved multiple flights & a layover! I know my SIL, and I’m quite sure she has a beer or two at the airport bar to try to calm her nerves, but this shit is beyond funny, even for her.

That is funny! I’m like your SIL– serious, serious flight anxiety. God I miss my xanax while flying. Pregnant/breastfeeding means I haven’t taken it for a flight in about 3 years and it’s much better for me to just pass out and sleep the whole time than shriek with every small bump of turbulence.

oh. mahgahd. this is incredible. i need to meet this woman. also, tell her xanax is a terrified flier’s best friend. alcohol is no match. and you can get a whole bottle of the stuff for less than what it costs for one airport beer. 🙂
