The Monday Snapshot, Then & Now

Last weekend we drove up to the neighboring town to get together with some friends of ours to do a joint photo shoot (I took pics of them, my friend took pics of our family). The fall colors are beautiful here in the mountains lately, and with the snowstorm on Friday, we figured we had better get pictures taken soon if we wanted to have any leaves left on the trees!

Unfortunately, Stella was coming down with something (ended up with a runny nose and 101.5 degree fever that afternoon), so she was NOT in a picture taking mood (no cheese Mama), but my friend still managed to get some good shots. I’m trying to decide which one to use for our Christmas card picture, but here are a few of the outtakes!

I also realized when we got home that it was within 1 day of being 2 years to the day since my maternity photo shoot when I was pregnant with Stella. I’m about 2 weeks further along with her (almost 29) as I am with little man (about 27), but it was kind of fun to compare the pics!

  1. My vote is for the b&w of all three and you are looking at Stella. Absolutely stunning! You have such a beautiful little family. And to think it is only going to get even better!

    1. Thanks! I love that B&W one too. We actually got a couple of other ones (that I didn’t share here so as not to spoil the surprise) where all 3 of us are smiling, and I think it will be one of those that we use. So hard to decide! The aspens sure make for a gorgeous background.

Omg the one of you guys kissing her is soooooooooo cute!

  3. Gorgeous! Double gorgeous! Yay! Getting so close!

  4. Oh, and sorry I can’t see the slideshow. My phone is being annoying.

    1. There, I switched it to one that doesn’t require javascript to view. Maybe that will help?

You guys look so cute! We’re not able to do our family/maternity pictures until November and I’m just hoping it’s not ridiculously cold or rainy by then!

  6. I’m jealous. I didn’t do maternity pics with Raegan and would SO love to do family portraits with the fall colors. Maybe MAYBE after BB#2 comes, I can convince Babe to jump on this bandwagon. He struggles with it because they didn’t do family portraits growing up. I love all the pics and you are all too pretty for words. Can’t wait to see what you pick for the Christmas card!

    1. Ya, i’ve never PAID for maternity or family pics, but I totally would if it came down to it. I’m just blessed to have a Mom and a friend who both take pics whenever I’d like. 🙂 They’re so fun to look back at!

      1. heck, I’d set up the tripod and do it myself and I just might if I find the time for maternity pics. But the family portraits are so hard to do myself. I’m going to try to ask my mom again this year. We did get some great ones last October, but we didn’t really try for them. This year, I might just get some nice clothes out and see what we can do, especially in the time that Babe has off from work after new baby…

  8. BEAUTIFUL! My photographer likes doing maternity photos at 27-28 weeks so you look radiant and glowing. I would say you look pretty darned radiant in these! I love them!

  9. Gorgeous- you have one beautiful family! I hope Stella is feeling better

  10. These are beautiful!!! Even with a grumpy, sick Stella! 😉 I love the one of you swinging her and also both kissing her cheeks. And you look fantastic! I am so happy for you that you are where you are right now.

  11. I love these! I really like the b&w pic and the kissy face one 🙂

I am really hoping for some kind of maternity shoot sometime in December/January. I’d love to do one with G!

  12. So sweet and you are looking beautiful!
