36 Weeks

photo 4I wrote weekly posts during my pregnancy with Stella, but somehow this time around has evolved into more of a bi-weekly thing. As I near the end though, I’m thinking it might be time to start checking in more often, just for my own neurotic record keeping purposes. 🙂 I’m trying really hard to keep in mind that I could go to 42 weeks (January 22nd!!) … while at the same time hoping I go closer to the 38 week mark like I did with Stella (Christmas day). As I read back over my 36 week post from last time, I’m struck by the fact that I actually think I’m feeling better this time around. I don’t know if it’s because I’m being forced to still be active and out of the house since I’m still working, but although I am exhausted and feeling run down, I don’t feel as huge as I described last time, and thanks to no carpal tunnel (I only had it for about 2 weeks this time – how weird, right?!), I’m physically feeling okay overall.

Don’t get me wrong, my belly is definitely getting large and in charge (I run into things every.damn.day. Sorry kid), and I’m generally up for a couple of hours in the middle of the night with pregnancy insomnia thanks to some horrid heartburn, but for the most part, this pregnancy is really just cruising along. Charlie has been warning me that I shouldn’t even think about doing this again someday, just because I’m forgetting how horrid the first 17 weeks were. LOL.

I’m starting to work on getting things together for little man considering I’ll be full term next week! I just emailed my friend that borrowed my moby wrap, swing, co-sleeper, and bouncy chair and asked for everything back by the weekend before Christmas. I figure I’ll be 37w3d by that point, and for my own peace of mind it will be good to have everything back in the house. 🙂 I’m also washing all of the clothes we’ve been given, and I think we’re pretty set for itty bitty baby boy clothes! The amazing SRB sent me a box, my work threw me a baby shower, my Mom sent a few things, and a girlfriend in town with a 6 month old boy just gave me a whole bag of NB and 0-3 month clothes. It’s so crazy seeing all of those tiny onesies hanging in the closet again! I still need to buy some disposable diapers I think (we waited a few weeks to start cloth with Stella and will probably do the same again because the OS diapers are so big on newborns!), but other than that, I’m pretty set for little man!

  1. Don’t buy anything…I’ll send you the box I have…email me your mailing address please and I’ll get to the post office tomorrow or Friday!

    1. Thanks, Sarah!

    2. I LOVE THIS!

      1. Ditto!

      2. I may have choked up and gotten teary eyed at that photo of all the itty bitty baby boy clothes. And then choked up even more reading SRB’s comment, because the fact that your little guy will be wearing those same jammies is pretty freaking awesome. AND because you are having a baby boy in a matter of weeks… or even like… A WEEK! Eeeeek!

You look absolutely fantastic by the way.. and you have this entire pregnancy! 🙂 What a glow!

  2. I smiled at what you said about Charlie. Back in the beginning when you said you were for sure done bc of how hard it was/is, I thought, “I wonder how long that feeling lasts.” 🙂 Not to say you really will want/have more, just that the “This is too difficult to do again!” feeling is forgotten so easily.

    1. Ha, ya, I really don’t want to do it again, but he is making SURE we don’t do it again. 🙂

  3. I look at the photo of all Little Man’s clothes, and I see the PJs that MJB slept in the night he was born (the one’s from Lanie) and oh man…my heart is in my throat and bigger three times over.

You look amazing. Not just beautiful, glowing, and gorgeous, but content. Peaceful. It’s wonderful. <3

  4. How are you 36 weeks already?! I swear, everyone else’s pregnancies go by so much faster than my own ever did! You look awesome too by the way. Hoping you don’t go 41 weeks and little man decides to make his appearance around Christmas time!

  5. You look adorable! 🙂 I feel like we have been through these pregnancies together lol. I will be 35 wks Monday, and am having a boy too so I love seeing the photo of all the boy clothes!

I said that with the morning sickness every time….and here I am on #4 lol. I I was so sick just like you…..on Zofran and Phenergan 6-18 wks. But I swear we do forget otherwise I would have stopped long before 😉

So excited for you and hope this little one comes a little sooner (mine like to go 40-42 wks haha but each time have gotten a little earlier, my third was 40 wks 2 days)

  6. Sooo close! Love all the baby boy clothes- I am so thrilled for you that you are going to have a little mister. Can’t wait to “meet” him!

  7. Wow, all those great clothes!!!! You look fantastic and so happy! I am glad your 2nd and 3rd trimesters are going so well! You deserve it after the hell of the first few months!!!!!

  8. Hi, friend! You look fabulous. I wanted to let you know that Jillian’s Drawers has a newborn cloth diaper rental program for $40/month if you want to completely avoid the disposables. Can’t wait to hear about your birthing time!

  9. Yay to almost having a baby!!!

  10. Oh man, you are so close! And you look so lovely. And those clothes, all hung up! And their histories! And getting more! AHHHHH.

  11. You look so fabulous!! And I think you are doing pretty great in terms of being prepared. I am feeling decidedly UNprepared but I know I still have time. Our plan is to do it all in a few weeks when we take some time off!

  12. You are so beautiful! I am so excited for you Josey!!!

Also, I’m obviously slow, but I JUST realized how close Stella’s and Little Man’s birthdays are – I love that. So cool. Late winter/early spring is obviously a good time for you and C. 😉 xoxox

  13. You look like you feel amazing. 🙂 I’m so glad for you that you do, especially since the beginning of your pregnancy was so had. Baby Boy will be here so soon!!
