Postpartum / Postadoption Fornication Survey

Here we go y’all, it’s time for survey #2. Sorry, you’ll have to have a kid to participate in this one!

My first poll (Lopsided Much?) was all about our breasts and their symmetry (or lack thereof). Survey #2 is going to be all about jumpin’ bones since it’s kinda sorta on my mind lately. *ahem* I’m nothing if not wildly invasive and inappropriate in my surveys. You’re welcome. πŸ™‚

Same as last time, I’ll leave this survey open for a week and then write up a results post next Friday. Don’t worry, it’s anonymous. I mean, I could probably try to drill down through the poll software and figure out who answered what somehow, but I 100% honestly, truly don’t care. I’m more interested in the overall consensus on these things! Happy surveying!

Only comment to add is I had FINALLY started feeling in the mood again – then I got pregnant… R was not amused. We actually fought about lack of sex a LOT last summer in first tri.

    1. Same here!!

  2. PPD played a huge part in our (lack of) sex life after G. I’m hoping that doesn’t happen this time. It sucked.

    1. Shoot, I meant to ask a questions about how PPD affected things for people. I’m sure you’re not the only person that was true for. πŸ™

I have found that it’s so hard to “be in the mood” when you’re tired. By the time the kids are in bed at night I am usually SO TIRED. I force myself to go with it and I am never disappointed that I did. And….can you post the result of these polls? It would be interesting to see what the common answers are. And….keep polling. They are great!

    1. Ya, fatigue plays a big roll in it for me too.

I posted the results of the last one the following Friday, and I’ll post the results of this one next Friday. πŸ™‚

    Love the surveys!

    1. Glad to hear it πŸ™‚

  5. First of all, the word fornication is endlessly funny in its seriousness.

I really only start wanting it again once I’m pregnant again. McMister thinks it’s that (which it might be). I think it might be that I stop bf-ing right after getting pregnant again. Or more likely, it’s a combination of the two. By far our number one argument in the first year of each girl’s life is about the lack of the ess ee ex.

    1. I was trying to think of all sorts of words I could use instead of the obvious one. πŸ™‚

I definitely started wanting it again when I was about done breastfeeding. I think those hormones have a lot to do with it.

  6. I have to admit, it was hard to answer a lot of those questions because my experience after my first birth (when I suffered a third degree tear) was very different from the experience I’ve had since my son was born. I was plagued with pain after my first birth, and did months of pelvic floor therapy, which didn’t help much. I hated having sex, which hurt during the act and then made me hurt even more for up to a week afterward (TTC for 13 months with chronic pelvic pain is AWESOME, let me tell you). Since my second birth, things down there have been MUCH better and I’m MUCH more interested in/eager to have sex now than I was before. Ah our lady bits. So much fun. πŸ˜‰

    1. I’m so glad things have been so much better for you this time around! I know you were concerned about that before Monito was born.

  7. I like the word penetration as much as the word insert. *shudder* πŸ˜‰ Will save my thoughts on The Sex for the results post.

    1. It kinda makes my skin crawl too – I didn’t know what other word to use though!

  8. Love it! It was hard for me to answer since I delivered T vaginally and had an emergency c-section with Alex. We went for it right after 6/8 week clearance with both, and they both were painful, but in different ways. T obviously did more damage down there, but the c-section scar made coitus (yes, coitus) more uncomfortable in different ways.

Also, I’m not using any birth control so it is really obvious when I’m ovulating b/c I want my hubby so dang much. It’s like my body is telling me to have more kids. Andy is seriously considering a vasectomy because of this. πŸ™‚

    1. Oh yes, when we made Lyla, there was NO DOUBT in my mind it was going to happen over the course of two days. My body was SCREAMING for bebe hahaha.

      1. No wonder there are so many accidentally pregnancies out there – ladies be HORNY around ovulation. πŸ™‚

  9. Can’t wait to see the results of this one! I love hearing about other people’s sex lives πŸ˜‰ Which obviously you do too haha

    1. LOL, we’d be great friends if we lived near each other. πŸ™‚

  10. I was in the mood while pregnant in the second and third tri, but after 4 kids in 5 years and nursing each one, I really didn’t get back in the mood til 6 months when solids were started and then really once I weaned. Those BF hormones are powerful! That and the first tri I spent puking 6-18 wks every single time! Ugh!

    1. Ya, BF hormones definitely affected me last time. I was finally getting back into the mood when Stella was almost weaned…and then I got pregnant again and we were back to zero for awhile b/c of the puking. Blergh.

  11. Hysterical. I tried answering but the priblem within Adoption is that many if your questions don’t apply. For me it’s more the leftover infertility bullshit that affected the whole deal.

    1. Shoot, I should have made sure adoptive parents could answer more completely. I’m sorry!

And yes, leftover IF shit definitely affects things for us too. Years of timed, desperate sex wears on ya…

Well… this is just depressing. I have not so much as kissed a man since before Cheeks was born. Wah. Wah. Wah.

    1. I’m sure that will change for you when you’re ready for it to. πŸ™‚

  13. Loved this survey. My final question would have been “does alcohol play a part in your sex life” with the answer being “um.. YES!” HA! πŸ™‚

    1. Hahaha. On that note, we had some beers with friends last night and finally took the plunge into postpartum sex. Thank you alcohol. TMI, sorry. πŸ™‚

    2. Same here! Alcohol helps!
