WWW – 7 Weeks PP – Multitasking

So this week has been all about multitasking and figuring out how to get a workout done even when I have 2 little kids to take care of and things to do. Next Monday I’ll be back at work (though thankfully only part time the first 3 weeks), and it’s only going to get harder to find time, so I want to keep working on getting in the habit now!

In case you’re in doubt of my multi-tasking skillz, here is visual evidence. 😉

Yes, that’s me pumping while on the elliptical! LOL. It forces me to stabilize my upper body while using the elliptical, which is a workout in itself! It’s a good way to kill 2 birds with one stone in 30 minutes.

As for my goals this month:

  • Complete Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred program. – I worked out 6/7 days, and I think I did the Shred on 4 days and the elliptical on 2. I really should be writing this down. But yes, I’m doing pretty well at getting more exercise in whenever possible. I’m averaging 8k+ daily steps this week, which I’m really happy with! Huge improvement over the 3k I was at a month ago.
  • Track calories in MFP & stay within my limit. – I’m still doing pretty well with this. On Saturday we had some friends over for drinks and I didn’t track perfectly, but for the most part I’m doing well with logging everything & staying within my limit.
  • Drink more water – at least 100 oz per day. – Still working on this! I’m carrying my 24 oz / 750 mL Cambelbak around with me everywhere which is helping a little.

One last thing – here is a great article I came across this week – The 11 Most Destructive Nutrition Lies Ever Told. Check it out!

  1. OMG those pics are hilarious! Go you! I didn’t even know it was possible to pump and exercise at the same time! 6 out of 7 days is great!!

    1. Well, it’s not possibly usually, but when I used to pump on my lunch breaks while Stella was little, it was the only time I could figure out to work out as well, so I realized it WAS possible on the elliptical. Necessity is the mother of invention right? 🙂

      1. I’m impressed!

I read that article and I always though “low fat foods” were healthier, at least according to Weight Watchers. (LOL) They probably market that because people can eat “more for less points” by switching to low fat, but in reality, they are just eating more processed ingredients. Also, the eating smaller meals through out the day being associated with higher risk of colon cancer, I had never heard that one. Very interesting, thanks for sharing!
I bet if one of us bloggers did a post on the most bizarre places we’ve pumped/breastfed, we would have some pretty funny pictures! I love that you are pumping while exercising, way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone!

  4. Omg! I’m dying! That is too good…not many can say they’ve pumped while on the elliptical before!

I have no idea how you pump and exercise at the same time. To be honest, it almost sounds like a rare form of torture to me. Maybe I’m just lacking the dedication.

  6. Inspiring!!

I find this absolutely hilarious and awesome at the same time. I can’t believe you’re working out with a newborn and a toddler…you’re like super mom =)

  8. You astonish me with how much you’re able to do under all circumstances!

    1. Haha, necessity is the mother of invention. 🙂
