Last weekend Charlie and I took a quick weekend getaway with the kiddos to celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary. It’s incredible to think that we decided 5 years ago (on our first anniversary) to try to start a family, struggled & worried for nearly 2 years that it would never happen, and then 3 years ago I was pregnant with Stella on our anniversary, last year I was pregnant with Harvey on our anniversary, and now 10+ years after our first date together, we have this… our family.
From the outside it looks so easy and perfectly planned. One girl, one boy, born almost exactly 2 years apart – just like so many people out there envision for their life plan. Ha! It’s a good lesson to not judge a book (or a family) by its cover.
I know I say this all the time, but I mean it from the bottom of my heart. We are so blessed.

Happy anniversary guys! It is funny, how from the outside you are the perfect family. I’ve often smiled at strangers with their cubby cheeked toddlers and precious newborns perfectly spaced and wondered if they might have had struggles too, or what bumps in the road they are dealing with.
Your vacation looked just like one we would have taken! We always need a second room and everything is centered around naps! And we are always up too early for businesses! I love what you ended up doing the second day. I love going for drives.
