The Monday Snapshot – On Continuing Grief

This morning my Mom called me at 6:27am. It’s never a good thing when my Mom calls me, no matter what time of day it is, because my Mom only calls if someone I love has died. I love my Mom, and I call her nearly every day, but I sure don’t like seeing her name on the caller ID anymore.

My first & last selfie with Grandpa was over Christmas when he gave us a scare and was in the hospital for a day. I miss him so much. 🙁 I’m so thankful that his body is now whole again now though, and I love knowing that he is hanging out with my Grandma in Heaven.

  4. I’m so sorry, Jos. I’m sending hugs and love.

Losing my grandpa brought me a little peace knowing he was with my grandma again in heaven, which is where he so desperately wanted to be for his final two years. I still think about them in heaven together on a pretty regular basis. I hope the same thoughts bring you peace.

  5. This is a wonderful picture. I’m so sorry, Josey. Thinking of you all.

  6. I’m so sorry for this loss. Bittersweet. Comfort in knowing that he’s at peace but for those left behind… 🙁
    Thinking of you

  7. I can so relate with not wanting your phone to ring. For me, it was calls from my dad at odd hours of the day for about a month when my mom was sick. Such a sickening feeling wondering what words you are going to hear on the other end of the phone. Maybe he was waiting to see the whole family together one last time before saying his final goodbye. I’m so glad you all got to see him during your most recent trip. Thinking of you and your family.

  8. I am so sorry for your loss Josey. I love this photo of the two of you and am so glad you have it to look back on! So glad you also got to see him over Christmas. I am sure that meant a lot to both of you. Thinking of you during this sad time. xo
