The Monday Snapshot – Girls Weekend

I’m probably going to do an entire recap of this past weekend on my family blog, but suffice it to say that this past weekend was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. It was the first time I’ve done a trip with just Stella since Harvey was born, and it was SO fun to spend some quality time with just her. I was completely flabbergasted to realize how much easier she had gotten to travel with over the past year. I guess I hadn’t noticed since I always have Harvey with me too, but this past weekend the only consideration I had to do was make sure we stopped for bathroom breaks at regular intervals. Other than that… nada. It was so much fun to take her to restaurants and push naptimes and run around museums and spend 12 hours in the car, and realize that it was fine – AND FUN!

A HUGE thank you to my little sis who was in town for work and provided us with free accommodations and the motivation to make this fun girls’ weekend happen. It was so fantastic to spend some time with her over the weekend! Stella sobbed when we had to leave on Sunday morning, which was equal parts adorable and heartbreaking. We <3 our family.

I’ve loved all your pics from this weekend so far! That’s so great she does well in the car. We went about 3-3 1/2 hours away last summer, and Gracie thought she was going to die the car was so awful hahaha

  2. That’s good to know that traveling with wee ones gets easier. The last time we flew across country with Lettie she was only one and it was rough. I think it would be better now. Also, how do you have the energy to keep up TWO blogs? I can barely handle one haha.

    1. 9m-15m is HANDS DOWN the hardest time to travel with kids. They’re mobile but not verbal and there is NO reasoning with them. Hell hath no fury like traveling with a 1 year old. It definitely gets much easier!

So fun to make those Mommy & Me memories with her! Savannah & I are off to Florida (weather permitting) next week for a mini vaca. We’ve never gone away just her & I before so I’m so excited! Flying should be a breeze with just her.

  4. Ah! Love the photos! So glad it was a wonderful trip!

  5. I need to make a vacation away with JJ a priority, but a mini-vacation away with just Chloe sounds awesome! You are right, they are at a great age that makes it much easier when you don’t have to worry about the restraints set by the younger sibling. Glad to hear you had a wonderful weekend!
